What is Verin doing? She is almost omnipresent-- there when the most important things are happening and she seems to know much more than most give her credit for. She also is very protective of Rand . . . but maybe not in that motherly sort of way. She was going to poison Cadsuane! She is manipulating people with compulsion. WHY? I can't figure it out, but one of my recurring premonitions is that she, and perhaps the leaders of the Brown Ajah are not so much intereted in Knowledge as much as they are interested in the knowledge of the Dragon Reborn and assuring his survival. No real proof . . . but I'm curious. In my opinion, this question is more important than …

Ok just a quick theory, since returning from exile (and her subsequent election fo highest of the red), Tsutama Rath has had several drastic personality changes. We are currently unsure who messana is posing as in the tower so I was wondering, is it possible that Tsutama Rath is actually messana, and that the real Tsutama was killed whilst in exile only to be replaced? the reason I thought this was the timing of her re-appearance, and her sudden rise to power, combined with her change of personality. Messana has to be somebody, so why not Tsutama?

In every leat favorite character topic i have looked in, Rand has seemed to be a prime choice. Now he has that unhealing wound in his side, and in KOD at the very end (dont keep reading if you havent read it yet) he ends up with one arm as a knub. I may not like reading his chapters at times (they do tend to get filled with politics) but i am very happy with his over-all character. So why isnt everyone else?

Hello Everyone, I'm new here but I just thought I might voice a question that has been weighing on my mind for sometime as I've read the last three books. It seems to me that even thought he's denied it, Noal is actually Jain Farstrider. Now I could be wrong. But to me it seems like he's Jain and he's created this rather shabby looking exterior and gone into public hiding to try and forget all about his past, and his mistakes, the one's that Noal talk about. Does anyone else have some ideas on this. I mean if I'm wrong feel free to tell me, but please offer another theory. Cause the only other one I can think of is that Noal is Jain's son and has been looking for him…

I was re-reading EotW and during the ending fight between Ishamael and Rand. In this sequence Rand summons a sword, The Sword of the Light. "His sword was in his hand. Not the heron-mark blade, but a blade of light, a blade of the Light. Even as he raised it, a fiery white bolt shot from the point, as if the blade itself reached out." Against The Shadow, Pg 762 I was wondering whether Rand will use this again? I have been trying to remember if he has used it in any of the other books but he hasn't. The only other 2 swords that come close is the fire-wrought sword that Rand summons and Callandor. It isn't the fire-wrought sword as there is a difference of the swor…

Does anyone think that perhaps, since Moridin is channeling the True Power, which is a different form of power than the One Power; that perhaps the Creator has a form of True Power of his own, which we haven't seen yet? Rand is currently unable to use the One Power pretty much, since he's getting sicker and sicker everytime. What if he learns to use this supposed "True Power" of the Light before the Last Battle and is able to use THAT to imprison the dark one again. thought???

Two characters that I know are and will have a fairly large impact on the way things play out. Could you all explain as much as possible about these two? Moridin I have read is just another Forsaken? If that is true however why is he now favored by the DO by holding Mogehdien's (sp?) mind trap and has control over a few other forsaken. Is Moridin going to become Nae'blis? Shaidar Haran... I know that he is a myrdraal and that he is special because of his size and that he talks. Do you think that he could be the DO's puppet where the DO is controlling him or do you think he just works for the shadow all on his own? I feel like I am forgetting the details of these two chara…

Just want to throw some questions out there and see what you guys think. Who do you think should lead the armies of the Light? What would be the military hierarchy? What place would the Great Captains have when compared to Mat and Perrin, The Generals of the Seanchan and Aiel Clan Chiefs. How will the Aes Sedai and Asha'man figure in to the overall plan? What do we know about the location and movements of the current armies in Randland? How much firepower do you think each nation can bring to the table? What do you estimate to be the number of soldiers in each country, clan, seanchan army available to the light? What do you estimate the number oftrollocs an…

Wouldnt it be fun if Herid fel's death was all just a practical joke Fel played using the body of a drifter he found, but then whilst trying to get a good hiding spot to have a good laugh at Rand he hid so well he got lost, Caddy shack finds him and then thats her big plan to get rand to laugh again? pop Fel out of a gateway somewhere heaps random? Also if Rand gave lews therrin "a go" of the cheodan kal at the black tower - in front of Taim - for funsies? Funnest of all would be in the last chapter of AMOL we find out chuck norris is actually the creator. Anyone else think of some fun zany twists AMOL may never really have in store?

SERIES SPOILERS WARNING If you are in the first book maybe you'll want to wait a bit before reading this... In the Prologue to EotW there is a description of Lews Therin's clothes and mention of the fact that they were "...brought by merchants from across the World Sea". In another book there is mention of an enormous structure that is pointed at the sky and that kills people who come near it. (Can't recall offhand which book but the context causes me to believe the edifice has been left turned "on" for 3000 years.) The Stones also are reputed to go to other worlds (besides parallel ones). Is there any kind of backstory or comment to support other worlds were settled…

hey guys i'm new to this. But this is just a quick thought,I think that Slayer can maybe somehow comminucate with darkhounds. Mybe not to the same degree as perrin can and minus the yellow eyes but i think maybe he can sumon them and at the " Last Hunt " it will wolves vs. darkhounds and perrin goldeneyes vs. Slayer. very well could be completely wrong but i think it'd be damn cool if shit went down that way.

Does the title of the book mean anything? Could it be that the Dark one wins the last battle, kills rand and all that is left is 'a memory of light'? Please RJ let the DO win!! this compulsory happy ending in all of high fantasy is getting to me! why can't the bad guys win for once? Whats so good about wiping out evil!? the aes sedai symbol itself is derived from the Taoist symbol of Yin and Yang. There must be evil for there to be good and vica versa. The only thing different in the two symbols are the black and white dots respectively in the middle of the tear shape. It means that there is evil in good and good in evil. NOW someone explain to me what winning the …

SPOILER to Knife of Dreams!!!! Warning given!!! Maybe this was covered and I just didn't see the thread, but WHY, Oh WHY didn't Rand use Balefire on that forsaken when he lost his hand?! "No hand?! That sucks. Oh, wait. **BALEFIRE** There, one less forsaken to worry about AND I get my hand back! Win-Win!" Was this too obvious? I kept reading sentence after sentence, expecting him to let the Balefire Fly... but... NO?! Anyone else find this screwy?!

Re-reading the series (again) and started to wonder about something in "shadow Rising". Does Rand "know" or have a clue that Lanfear & Ashmodean is in the peddlers(kadere`s) party? He is very suspitious towards Kadere himself, but Lanfear is also mentioned alot in his POV. It seems like he has an idea. What does he know? Is there anything about that in the books.

Ok, maybe I have totally missed a point in the story, but I cant figure out the meaning of the Lord of Chaos. In the ending of book 11, Logain says: Remember the old saying; let the lord of chaos rule, or something like that. Can someone please explain me the meaning? thanks

What do you think? Is Rand going to die? This quote does seem to point to the fact that Rand has the possibility to live past the Last Battle. I cant imagine Robert Jordan giving this tid-bit and then not following it through. We know the Ael'finn and Eel'finn do not lie, and the truths they tell can be trusted, but it is not the question "Will I die?", but the question "How can I live." The answer to live, you must die is awefully wide and hard to fullfill, I mean obviously he must die in a particular way, not just simply follow the literal path and end his life and be reborn. Does this death have to do with min's vision of Alivia (the ex-damane channeler) …

Does anyone else think that Rand's impending doom, might have something to do with the fact that both he and LTT are inhabiting the same body? My theory is that yes he may be killed in the last battle, however it is fought for him, but that when he dies LTT will be killed, and out of the shadows and dust of the newly resealed prison, or the creation of the new prison, or the death of the DO or whatever happens. Rand will be found still clinging to life, but minus one extra voice in his head? Just a theory add your own.

I recently read an interview with Robert Jordan in which when asked what accents the various peoples in the wheel of time he equated the Seanchan accetn the with that of texans. So was RJ for real or was he making a joke?

So I'm re-reading Eye of the World, and Rand and his gang hear from three sources that the DO is trying to blind the Eye of the World. "Ba'alzamon" also keeps saying 'The Eye of the World will never serve you!' My question is this, Who cares if the Eye of the World is blinded? Does it do anything? Rand uses it up and nothing bad happens to the world. You never even hear of it again the rest of the series. Why is it so important to the Dark One?

Personally I would introduce something like the character Cara, a Mord'Sith in the Terry Goodkind Sword of Truth series. I see them to be in existence to fight / kill Myrhdraal (sp.). Feisty, a match for Aviendha - would Rand fancy another woman?

I have been rereading the great hunt again and I was just wondering what the signifigance is between Luc and Isam. They must play and important role as thay are mentiond in a dark profercy writen on the walls in the doungens of Fal dDara keep along with Lanfear and Auter Hawkwings decendants, both have played an important role so far but Luc and Isam seem not to have. The paragraph of the profercy consening Luc and Isam reads "Luc came to the mountains of doom. Isam waited in the high passes. The hunt is now begun. The shadows houds now course, and kill". It was also mentioned,or thought by Moraine, that lord Luc was brother to Tigraine(Rands moter), the than …

Who is the DO's greatest enemy? The Dragon. So, going with the body swap between Rand and Moridin, it would be great if somehow LTT got left bohind and took over Rand's(now Moridin's) body. If one Dragon was bad for the DO, then two is He!! on Wheels. It would also pan out the "to live you must die" thread if LTT died. Meh, just a thought.

Me being a history major, always try to hook past events with RJ's writings. Such as: -The Aiel swarming out of the waste attacking Cairhien. Sound like German Blitzkrieg to ya? -Andor having bad relations with Cairhien, England and France? -Seanchan invasion of Randland? Cortez and his total anniliation of the Aztecs? If you gots some connections you see, or disagree with my suggestions, reply, i wanna see more ideas.

Sorry if this has been asked but I just finished PoD and at the end when the six Reds arrive to ask Taim about bonding Ashaman he says "Let the Lord of Chaos Rule". I remember this being said to the Forsaken by the DO I think, but was it ever made public? How did Taim come to learn of this saying?
