This is my first topic. Sorry if you guys are tired of this discussion. Dont know if I had to make a topic out of this. But I think Taim is a forsaken.I think he is moridin.I dont have conclusive evidence and some of it might be wrong.I would like to see what you guys think though. Here are my reasons. 1.Asmodean was killed around the same time Taim appeared to rand around the same place. He mustve had a hand in that. IT said death took him. Moridin named himself death. 2.How did he get the seal on the drak ones prison. I think he lied. 3. Lews Therin shouts at Rand telling him to kill him just like Osangar, another forsaken.I think Jordan does this for a reas…

  3. I'm new so I am going to ask a couple of questions that surely have been covered all over the place amny times...send me your wisdom. :-) I just finished book 11 and I'm a bit confused...which Forsaken are truly gone and who is reborn as who? I don't have this straight in my head. 2nd, is there a concensus that a Forsaken is pulling Taim's strings? If so, who is it?

In ACoS when Moggy gets fitted with a mind trap and meets Moridin he says she accidently did some good, any theories on what the good was? I think it may have been discouraging the wonder girls from figuring out how to detect a mans channelling, but I'm not sure about that.

  6. hello, I'm new here and I live in France. I'm looking for a long time for the first book of "wheel of time" in Franch and in teh edition RIVAGE and I don't find it! it seem to be out of order! can you help me to find it? It's for a gift thanks a lot Ariane

To start off with, THIS IS NOT MY THEORY, though albeit a good one I believe in. This theory was posted on wotmania.com by AshaShan. It is about the connection between Slayer and Rand and I believe anyone who hasnt already seen it should. If this has already been brought up I am sorry. It is fairly long but stick with it because the length is the proof. Link: http://www.wotmania.com/theorypostdbtheory.asp?ID=716&Category=Archetype

First take equal amounts of metal from the world your starting from and the world you go to via a Portal Stone. Then construct a doorway melding both metals together and then hardening it as one. Next focus the One Power into a single point within the middle encompassing the entire doorframe within that single point. Next weave a Traveling web through this single point and volla a connection has been made to your destination. Go through said portal and then on the other side repeat the first step making the second doorframe as exact as the one in your world the same metals and the same shape. Afterwhich you would then need to weave all around the doorframe and the ed…

Yeah, that really bugged me. I just finished Knife of Dreams for the second time, but there was no mention in the book. ALL the other books have something to do with the title, so why not this one?!?!?!

Now we all know Moridin is Ishamael in a new body. My question is why was Ishy in his original body so crazed about finding and killing Rand, while in his Moridin form he has met Rand in person in SL, yet let's him live and tells the other Forsaken not to kill him yet? thanks

what is the real difference between the two? there are snippits of thoughts of the foresaken who are aware of both and it seems to be tied to DO but i curious as to whether it is evil or not. what special powers does one gain with TP over OP? does rand gain this ability after locking DO away?

When Rand set the Sword that is not a Sword into the Heart of the Stone, he layed traps and wards around it to keep others from coming and stealing it. But when he sent Narishma to retrieve it, he was told later by Narishma that there were traps and wardings that were not told to him. My question here is: did someone else, most likely a forsaken, finding that they could not take callandor because of Rands wardings, add more of thier own ?!! That would explain why Rand did not tell Narishma about all the traps. It would explain away some of the Madness surrounding Rand. I know that Rand at the time thought he had forgotten something, or that maybe he was going mad.

  13. There's something I noticed when Rand was thinking about LTT's voice in his head in the earlier books. He mentioned him being "as mad the day he died in the AOL." But there's one problem, Ishamael healed him of his madness before he died so he would know what he had done when he did go insane. LTT then killed himself when he realized he killed Ilyena driven by GRIEF. Which means that LTT's voice isn't mad, but rather someone who realized he killed his own wife and family (although he doesn't seem to care about them as much as Ilyena). I can imagine Rand doing something similar if he realized he had killed someone close to him, but could it be possible for LTT to get o…

:!: i beleive saidar is tainted (if someone has posted it before me i appologise) here is my thought process:rand,in order to 'clean'saidin used the untainted saidar to purify the tainted saidin. what i beleive is that the dark ones taint in a sense 'rubbed off' on saidar when it was used on this fashion. unlike the taint that was on saidin the taint on saidar doesn't drive people crazy it merely effects saidars effectiveness(does that make sense?) like the rebel aes sedai's wardings on their food. I trhrow this topic open for discussion. p.s.this is my first post

Hi guys. I've actually found out that many of the forsaken's names are derived from various religious sources. Oh yes, I've read all the wikipedia's analysis on the wot names, but still. Probably many of you know that Shai'tan plainly means 'devil' in Arabic. Sammael is plainly derived from Samael in Judaism and Kabbalah. His name means everything bad in the human's soul. Asmodean may have been derived from Kabbalah's Arch-devil Asmodeus. By the way, one of these Arch-demons is Beelzebub (so close to Ba'alzamon). Okay, if you have any more ideas just write.

rereading the series recenty, i noticed two things that seem to contradict each other. we all know that when moiraine first meets Loial, they talk about the Breaking and how during it men who could channel took refudge in Ogier steddings. they emerged years later hoping the taint on Saidin was gone. Unfortunatly, it wasn't. Those men went crazy, prolonging the Breaking, and according to the Blues making sure the world wasn't destroyed completely and according to the Reds, making it longer and therefore, worse. now if that was it, it would be all well and good. but; in the books (i'm not sure exactly where, but i'm sure Loial mentions it a couple of times) we are told …

Ok, so I've been wondering this for awhile now. If nobody EVER names the dark one (and those that do are extremely looked down upon), and bad things happen to anyone who does name the dark one, how is it that EVERYBODY knows the dark one's real name? I mean, do they write it down for little kids and say "Don't ever say this name!" or what?

  21. I sure would be. It would make the series seem much too forced if they built all this tension and gave an ending that didn't have at least some serious sadness involved. Well, what do you guys think? P.S. Kill Elayne, Faile and Cadsuane. Please.

Reading a blog post that there is a jeweler that now makes official WoT merchandise (asha'man pins, Aes Sedai necklaces, rings, pendants, etc) I was wondering if anyone knows of where I could get WoT clothing, specifically Asha'man clothes i.e. the black coat with neck collar...im sure i could just go find something somewhere, but I was curious if there is actually a company that makes clothing of the WoT. Thanks! link to the jewelry: http://www.badalijewelry.com/jordan_b.htm

How is it than something can completely erase everything you've ever done. If the man who thought up 007 got baelfired would all the 007 movies dissaoear? and in doing that would Sean Connery never be a great movie acter? Feel free to discuss the diferent possibilities of baelfire in this thread.

One thing that always pissed me off and always irked me was in the Lord of Chaos when Mat confronts Egwene, Elayne and Nynaeve in the Little Tower, Egwene accuses Mat and his Band of being Dragonsworn. That never made any sense to me. Especially after Mat vehemently denies it (rightly so) and with Egwene's follow-up logic behind her accusation. She accuses Mat of being Dragonsworn because he goes where Rand tells him to. Which doesn't make any sense. The Dragonsworn do not follow Rand, they follow the Prophet--Masema. Rand has never once issued a command to any of the Dragonsworn, much less Masema. So how could anyone think that the title of Dragonsworn falls under an…

i was led to believe that you cannot fly using the OP, backed up by RJ saying no and siuan telling nynaeve in book 2, but since you can lift other people off the ground. surly two complying channelers could lift each other. Would this work, and would it constitute as flying?

  27. So far we have three incidents of Min being around Forsaken, and seeing nothing. In the Great Hunt she was right up near Lanfear, and in the Lord of Chaos she specifically tried to view Moghedian, but cannot see anything except something almost out of the corner of her eye (and in truth, that may have to do with Nicola and Ariena. She never saw anything specific about Moghedian). She also never saw anything about Osan'gar. Since it was implausible of her to say anything about what she may have seen around Semirhage... i.e. wether or not she saw something, she wouldn't have mentioned it, for the time being im simply going to ignore that. And she But why didn't she see …

I was just reading another post and it made me think of something (which has probally come up before). Everyone thinks Rand will fai without Moiraine, well what if the person dean and gone is LTT. Don't doubt me im not saying Moiraine will not come back. Im just saying what if she is not the DEAD and gone, this suggests that LTT is in Rands head for a reason.

So what if I have wasted 15 years of my life and endless hours typing on DM to get to the last book... and it stinks. What if it is like CoT? We sit here and type on what will happen so much when we get the book the book is anticlimactic to an extent. Given the track record of the last few, I am going into the last book thinking that it is going to be the worst thing I've ever read. Therefore I'll be surprised when if it is better. So on my long drives I can't think of what will happen next. I can't sit there and think: Who killed Asmodean? Will Bela get her own tv show? Why did Rand have to die? Is RJ really lying to us, and to have us f…

Say someone goes through the ter'angreal doorway, does the Q&A with the Finn and the Finns grab all their memories. Then that person leaves and gets Balefired. Would the memories still exist? And if they did, could they be reborn/resurrected using the memories from the Finns? Of course this is assuming you have a body/mind to put the memories into.
