Sorry if this has has been brought up because I know it has, but could the nine horse hitch be a reference to santas sleigh? Dasher, dancer, prancer, vixen, comet, cupid, donner, blizten, and rudolph? Not something dirty the way RJ made it out to be? Or what I originally thought, lol.

  4. I live near the boarder of Salem, Nh and Methuen, Ma and am looking for a store that will have the book available at midnight, any help would be greatly appreciated.

"Egwene sees a large shape cross the moon over Tar Valon and wonders if it is a Draghkar." CoT Do you think this is possible foreshadowing for a shadow attack on the white tower? or do you think this was actually a raken since it happened just before the seanchan attack? or is this just random monologue.

  7. Hi! I'm about to order my copy of AMOL (pretty late, I know), and I'm curious about any differences between these two editions. In particular, I'd like to know if there are usually (If someone has seen the previous hardcover editions) any noticeable differences between the Orbit and Tor ones: anything regarding font size and clarit, map availability and size, and general sturdiness of the book itself; or they are exact look-alikes beside the different covers. Thanks

I know this is an old question but the last book is coming so it is worth asking: What will happen if Rand defeats the Dark One? Is this a cycle or linear time, the ultimate end? Or will Dragon return to fight the Dark One again? When future Aes Sedai, thousands of years later will drill another bore into the Pattern? If this is a cycle, Ishamael and Dragon will fight each other endlessly. I find cyclic time very depressing. I want a definite ending. But if Dark One is not evil and only the counterpart of the Creator, it can't be truly defeated right? But what about other worlds and parallel universes? Does Dark One manifest itself in each of t…

Well I don't know why but I walking into my BX in Japan where I'm currently stationed and they already had the book. Bought it and read it and oh man it was epic. Pretty much the whole book was at climax from beginning to end. A little dissappointed in the very ending though, but with all series ending I usually am. I'm always left with the and now what questions and want it to continue and see how people live afterwords but it will not be. I was a little confused on some of the things happening but I think it is just because I haven't read the prior book in a long time and only read it once.

We all know the ages pass and come again, Dragon has battled DO or his champion Moridin/Ishy countless times with different scenarios and outcomes. I wonder though, has Saidin ever been tainted in the previous battles or Ages? It has to have been cleansed at some point too, but is there any quotes from RJ regarding this? Or other theories? If this is the first time, it has some cool implications. The taint's manifestation for the Dragon of this Age is madness, and his madness is LTT. After VoG, Rand accepts this madness as a part of himself but with this, he has the memories and experience of the previous Dragon. Has this ever happened before? We know Ishy tells to R…

Hi All, I am currently travelling in Europe and am keen to pick up an English copy of A Memory of Light when it gets released come January 8th (or more accurately my girlfriend who accuses me of being 'hard to buy for' has demanded a present request for my birthday a few days later :) ). Would anyone here have any suggestions about places where I could find a copy in either Madrid or Barcelona? Munich or Salzburg could also be done but I think the timing would be a bit tight... I assume that worst case scenario would be picking up a copy from Heathrow on my way home? Thanks in advance!

  12. I'll just leave this here then: http://www.npr.org/2012/12/29/168075551/exclusive-first-read-a-memory-of-light-by-robert-jordan-and-brandon-sanderson Luckers Edit: This is genuine--its chapter three. I don't really know what to do with it, but given its wide access I'll leave is as a pre-release spoiler.

I just read "Sherlock Holmes Examines the Death of Asmodean" and at the end it mentions that Lan's reaction as though Moiraine died and his bond being passed to Myrelle is explained by her losing her ability to channel. We also know she comes back much less powerful, but I don't remember anything saying she had been cut off then healed (imperfectly). Anyone know anything I forgot?

For some reason the thread I created last night disapeared, so here it is again.... Question: Who was behind the attack on Demira Sedai? Maria's Answer: Padan Fain and his corrupted Whitecloaks. Question: Sammael claims to have a truce with Rand, even though we see Rand turn him down. Was Sammael lying, or did… Maria's Answer: Sammael was lying in an attempt to manipulate Graendal.

  16. Has anyone actually kept track of all their own predictions and looney theories from Eye of the World to now - and can say...'hey guys i got 77% of my WoT theories correct. I'm da man!!!" As the last book with all the answers approaches, does anyone think they are 100% correct in their own personal theory count? Anyone at 0% correct? I find myself running about 70%, but most my own personal theories have to wait for the final book...hopefully they are answered there.

Anyone remember when the last time the seals were mentioned. Does Rand have the Seals with him as of FoM? Is that what he went to retrieve in TOM chapter 15? Does Egwene know where they are and if not, how does she hope to stop Rand?

Are there any precautions which were taken by DM's to avoid early-release spoilers?? There are many people who have already read the book (or claimed to read) and one of them might easily write what is going to happen in the end or talk about major events which will be happening in AMOL such as Min's visions (example). Even, there is a small chance of this kind of person, many people do not want to take that chance while we're one step closer to the ending. I begin to be afraid of entering the site to see some spoilers about the book but I love and appreciate Dragonmount so this isn't a solution. (at least for me). I am writing this statement because I want to feel safe, …

It causes a lot of tension that Asha'man have captured Aes Sedai as Warders, but it has a lot of advantages as does Aes Sedia bonding Asha'man. They both live hundreds of years and forming circles makes both more powerful. Obvious huge advantage with the Final Battle about to go down. The big obvious huge disadvantage is the loss of self determination, there are some who might take the physical advantages, but many would not - especial Aes Sedai with their overblown egos. But, most Damane sowho have been bound to the a'dam for hundreds of years are incapable of handling true freedom. It seems like the ultimate win win therefore for Asha'man to be tracking down Damane …

  20. As we all know, just over one month from now, the end of The Wheel of Time series will be here. The series begun 23 years ago for some but for me, it began rather recent; December of 2009 was when I discovered The Eye of the World for the first time. How did I discover it? Funny story at that. I was reading developer interviews in the back of the strategy guide to the game Little Big Planet and saw that one of the creators recommended this series. Being an avid reader myself, I decided to take a chance. I told myself that I would read the first three books and if I liked them I would stop reading it there. If I loved them, I would continue. Well, 11 months after picking u…

Perhaps you should try to guess which ones. DOPWENSJ Are they not explained, or are they explicitly noted to refrain from releasing the solution? BRANDON SANDERSON Some of each. In TOM, when Rand went to the White Tower to face Egwene, he stopped along the way to speak with Siuan. While they were talking, Tiana approached and pulled a small letter with a red seal. She said "This is for you". Rand asked "What is it"? Tiana replied "I promised to deliver it. I would have said no, but I never thought you'd actually come to...I mean..." then she cut herself off and walked away. Rand put the letter in his pocket and finished his conversation with Siuan. Have we every found out what was in that letter? Or why Tiana delivered it?

  28. This thought blossomed in my head - Why are people casting theories that "Rand" will be ripped out of the Dream? I have to say I think thats impossible because "Rand" is not the Hero bound to the horn, but instead the "Dragon" is the one bound to the horn - right? Has anyone already said that? Consider Brigitte: 1. When B is reborn - she is not reborn with a long blond braid all the time. 2. When B was ripped out of the Dream - she was ripped out as B. Now Rand: 1. Rand is LTT reborn. 2. Isn't that just like how that chick who got lost in the Tower of Ghenji was B reborn? 3. LTT was not 6 foot tall with red hair and grey eyes. So if/…
