February 6 will forever be circled on the calendars of everyone connected with Manchester United. On that day in 1958, the darkest day in United's history, 23 people - including eight players and three members of the club's staff - suffered fatal injuries in the Munich air crash. Flying back from a European Cup tie against Red Star Belgrade, the team plane stopped in Germany to refuel. The first two attempts to take off from Munich airport were aborted; following a third attempt, the plane crashed. Twenty-two of the people on board died instantly, while Duncan Edwards - one of the eight victims from the team - died 15 days later as a result of the injuries …

Hey, just wondering if anybody has read any Brandon Sanderson stuff yet? I spoiled myself with WOT being the first fantasy series I read (apart from the obligitory LoTR) so everything else after that has disappointed me - Sword of Shanara (didn't continue after book 1), Song of Fire and Ice (didn't continue after book 1) and Sword of Truth (read most of them up until the one where he makes statues for some reason... I know, a bad one to read past book 1 ;) ) Anyways, I always end up rereading WOT cos nothing compares as far as I'm concerbed! So since Brandon Sanderson was announced as the man to finish WOT, I've been visiting his site to see what he has to …

So does anyone on here actually like the SoT series at all? Or am I the only one who doesn't have the whole Terry Goodkind as being Robert Jordans nemesis point of view? Either way I like the books alot, WoT is better, but I really haven't found any other books that compare to WoT and you can only read each book so many times lol. Anyways the last SoT book came out not too long ago called Confessor and it wasn't what I expected at all. It was good, but very anti-climactic, in my opinion. Has anyone else read this book yet?

I hate vista. thought i should get that out first. hubby bought a brand-new laptop from a friend who bought it days before he lost his job. never even got the cable guy to hook up the internet... so i got stuck with vista which is something i told him i didn't want on the laptop. now, of course, i am fighting with it. does anyone know why i am being told my add-ons are disabled by the internet information bar while the add-on manager says they are all enabled? i have downloaded all of the updates that were available for vista and the issue isn't fixed. i would really like to be able to run add-ons because i have homework that is online and two hours of dead time…

Just went to the funeral of our friends' one-year old. Their son was born brain damaged - complications with the delivery - but he had been responding relatively well, and seemed relatively healthy. But when they went to get him up this morning, he wasn't breathing. Its seven hours later, and I still can't get the sound of his mother sobbing out of my head. I'm not sure how I'm going to sleep tonight, but I need to try.

I rarely venture off the Seanchan board to promote something in the community, but I felt it big news to Fantasy fans to report this and point to the Seanchan thread discussing this breaking news here . As a fan of the series I think this is very exciting news, especially with the upcoming Song of Ice and Fire coming to HBO down the road. I will also be updating the Seanchan thread with any updates as I find them.
