I think that is simplifying it a bit. Rand and Perrin did not want to be the cause of women dying. Like I would say Rand would have been far easier with the Clan Chiefs ordering the Maidens about. The problem was as his honour escort, he had to decide where they fought, so he could put them in danger, or try to keep them from it (if I remember correctly). 

In Emond's Field, the women were protecting the children but came to fight with the men at the last. I don't think Perrin would have denied them this right, which meant that Emond's Field survived long enough to be saved, but he would not have put them in front row himself.

Did Rand even know that the Seanchan had women soldiers? And even if he did, he had no way of telling who he was fighting. And Perrin 100% did not care about anything other than Faile at this point, so would say little about his outlook in general.

The Emond's Fielders attempts to protect women is a troubling issue in the story at many points, but it is in my opinion not as simple as you are making out here.
