I'm definitely looking forward to it. I'm happy to see Rhuarc cast. He was always a favorite

of mine in the books especially after my reread. 

Melindhra age will be significantly older than in the books then.

 

Even if she was a baby at the fall of Malkier that would make her the same age as Lan at the youngest.

Well, WOT Wednesday #2 seems like a bust, but I did see these new stills from S3 released. Pretty cool stuff, the Morgase costume is WAY over the top

The only thing that really stood out to me from those pictures was I really hate the look of the sword that Rand is using.

 

 

That is really nothing like the impression I got of his swords in the books. It's very short not curved looks like it is very blunt. It also looks kind of a bit like plastic.

Looks more like a ninjato than a katana.  Very blunt, thick, and plastic looking - as you said.  Perhaps a trainer so they can whack each without leaving more than bruises.  But those are usually wood to keep the weight down.

I thought possibly training but both the cross guards look distinctly more metallic and Lan's sword blade certainly looks much more like metal.

The sparring weapons described in the books are wood, training weapons can be overweight (although still with the correct balance) - this could be something of that kind.

The aiel spears look a bit "fake" to my eyes. Hopefully they look better in motion.

Yes.  The length of the spearheads looks right, but does not look like a steel weapon from this shot.

mat is in tanchico, so most likely they dropped out the whole portal sequence and use him being a hero of the horn to justify his memories.

i'm not particularly happy, but it can work.

Really not sure about the outfit they have Mat wearing.

 

And the extra is the same guy in the 2 different shots of Nyn and the group of 3 both times standing arms held outraised with different things in his hands. Does not look very natural.
