Yet the prophecy refers to "...those who call themselves Aiel.." so in order for them to be the ones the propechy speaks of, the DO need to call themselves Aiel.

 

Further, after 100 generations of interbreeding with non Aiel, the Tinkers don't even remotely resemble the Aiel.

 

Further, all the tinkers are heading for Seanchan controlled territories in the south and west and will probably not be in all that much danger, unless TG is lost or the Ways are not completely shut.

Aevogt got it--the prophecy makes clear that those the remnant of a remnant is a remnant of 'those that call themselves Aiel'. It rules the Tinkers out.

OK. It seems likely that the remnant will refers to modern day Aiel. I hope RJ had thought of a really good way to satisfy the prophecy and prove us all wrong. This forum is just going to be overflowing with comments after AMOL. I don't really think that the outcome of most of the prophecies will be what we expect at all. BE PREPARED EVERYBODY FOR THE RIDE OF UR LIFETIME in Fall 2009 !!!( Please god dont let it be delayed more than that!!!) ;D
