Good to see the Norwegian women's handball team dominating the Russians in the final and winning the gold.

And Usain Bolt helped Jamaica to gold and a new world record in 4x100 meters...Talk about the king of the Olympics.

 

As for the suspicion of a Chinese gymnast being underage...One thing that I do not get is why they would do such a thing. All the commentators I have heard have pointed out that it takes time to train the body for the extreme challenges gymnatsics puts on it, so sending an underage athlete seems quite stupid.

 

And quite an impressive tournament in table tennis for Swedens Jörgen Pettersson. The guy is 42(!), and will be playing for third place. With the fixation on youth that is going on in some places, it is good to see someone still going strong after 40. Rumour has it that after the semifinal, he hooked up with Haile gebresalassie to go and play bingo... ;D

I see that they have finally over riden one of the judges results, as they missed a kick to the head!

 

How can you miss a kick to the head?

In which sport was that? A headkick and judges...

Taekwondo or however it's spelled.

 

I heard the reason for using young gymnasts is that they're quite small and they're also a bit reckless so they perform tricks that the older gymnasts with more experience think are too dangerous.

I am glad to see her as the winner. She is one of those athletes who are so damn likeable that you always want them to perform well.

And she's only the third Belgian gold in athletics ever (and the first woman)

 

And she's the second Belgian since 1976 to get a medal in athletics (after yesterday).

Can't complain, Thorkildsen deserved the win.

 

Though the handball win pretty much decided the medal table I guess, the last medal chance for Finland is the marathon, and you wouldn't exactly have bet too much on that...

Actually, younger gymnasts can be more effective because younger people tend to be more flexible.  However, I am unsure whether 2 or 3 years makes a difference.
