Really??? Wow the things we learn. Any reason why they are called that? Here dummies mean someone that is dense usually.

Probably because it's a dummy teat, not a real one, I think. (And dummies are not so bright here too  ;))

 

We also called diapers nappies ... NO idea where that comes from  :D
