He shall heal the wounds of madness and cutting of hope

Featured Replies

One of Rand's biggest reasons for cleaning saidin was to get rid of the one power sickness he experiences as a result of his link with Moridin--what if 'healing' the cutting of hope was literally that--the failure of his hope in the aftermath of him healing what he thought caused it.

I agree that is a possible interpretation which could work. Like I said before, this just popped into my head out of left field as a possibility. I think either one could work. I just think the clensing is a little too obvious for the the wounds of madness. Many of the prophecies look like they mean one thing and end up being something a little more obscure. I definitely feel the wounds being the source of the "blood on the rocks" is too obvious. That leads me to believe the wounds will be healed. If the wounds will be healed, I feel there would be a prophecy about it. I know it seemsa little like circular logic, but that is partialy where my wounds theory comes from.

Wound of madness- Fain's dagger cut(the madness of Shadar Logoth)

Shadar Logoth seems/seemed to not have madness.  The books tell that Shadar Logoth's evil is/was different from the Taint's evil.  Shadar Logoth's evil is/causes suspicion and hate; the Taint's is/causes insanity/madness.

Wound of cutting of hope -  the wound given at Falme by Ishy(Betrayer of Hope)

Maybe; though it seems unlikely since neither wound has shown change and since the healing of both was done by someone else.
