Hopefully it's not the big plots, though. Cliffhangers are for soap operas. When you read a book, it's not supposed to be like real life. It's all well and good to keep things back because you don't know everything in real life, but if you wanted that you could just read the inside of the book's cover and stay curious about what's written on the pages.
