Vanishing weaves. If the weave (edge) touches Mr. Gholam, the weave will melt away. Better to open a Death Gate and shove the Gholam through it and close it.

 

My guess says the Gholam will be trapped by Mat & company and use the medallion to finish it off, slowly cooking by way of silver foxhead poisoning.

That would cause the weave to dissolve.

maybe the instructions Verin left with Mat have something to do with the gholam. She was black Ajah, and seemed to ferret out most of their secrets, perhaps one of the secrets had something to do with the gholam??
