I read Esther though.  Can't imagine why.  The Veggie Tales version is funny.

I had a social studies text book in middle school that Esther in it.

Really?  That probably wouldn't be allowed anymore, at least in public schools, simply because it's connected to the Bible/other religious texts. ::)

It is the only book in the Bible that doesn't once mention God. That is how they got away with it...

I suppose you're right.  It's implied that they're religious and that because of Esther's prayer and fasting she was able to go to the king and beg for her and her people to be saved, but you're right, I can't recall the book ever actually saying that stuff outright.
