There is to be a new third level rank created for the Shadowspawn! This will be called the "Darkhounds", and will coexist with the Myrrdraal rank, rather than replace it. Darkhounds will not be able to be promoted to fourth level. To become a darkhound, one must have the special approval of the Shaidar Haran - it will be fairly exclusive, or so I hear.

 

So, let loose the dogs of war and the hounds of hell and all that stuff! They're so sweet, bless 'em.  :D

pandi:  what is the purpose of the dark hounds?

I can answer that one, Canuk.  The Darkhounds were my idea that Pandy approved for me - it gives me a way to take 4th levelers that are completely (or mostly) inactive, and place them in stasis for other members to gain the Gholam rank and get Bore access....and give out points, yadda yadda.

 

In short, instead of just demoting people and making them lose points, I'll just move them to Darkhounds and allow them to keep their points and work their way back to the Gholam rank.  The BA have a nice battle for who is a 4th leveler, and I intend to have the same in the SS.  But the current 4th levelers (2 out of 3) are inactive here but have so many points that it'll take forever for other to catch them.  It isn't fair to eliminate points, but now I can effectively demote and let them retain their points.

Roka made me a Darkhound 5 years ago. I wasn't a member of SG then, and I can't really remember why he did it... *wanders away feeling senile*
