'Howzat' is usually what the bowler in a game of cricket asks the umpire when he's appealing for a leg-before-wicket call. It used to be 'How was that?' and got shortened.

Yep, US peoples don't generally understand cricket... heck, I don't understand the rules of our OWN sports.

Lynn, my sweets you are correct, it's waht they shout when they think they have a man out in cricket, but that can only by from the team that is out when they think they have a man who is in, out.

 

 

I'm lost on the rules, but the only reason I got the Howzat is because I went to a ghetto school. *lips zipped* hahaa

To most people, it just sounds like a bowler and a wicket-keeper screaming. Or so my hubby says. :D

I had a father and brother that played Cricket every Sunday in the Summer...don't particularly like the game, even though we were dragged along each time!
