ETA: And yes, I always felt that the gholam's odd obsessions and the watcher of Elayne in T'A'R as well as Demandred were all connected. It all makes sense now. Somehow or another, Demandred died and was put into the gholam's body. And its other personality, the one that doesn't hate Mat, is Olver. Unless...

 

Oh my God. Olver is Demandred/the Gholam spying on Mat and wants to cause him pain to get back at Rand's past incarnation as the wife-beating LTT.

 

Also, I'd like to apologize to the thread-starter, but its just this topic is one of those things people keep bringing up and I suppose... well, you know where it goes from there.

Gaidal Cain is actually Gareth's stallion Traveler, who has been getting it on with Bela. Olver is actually Traveler, and rides horses to get back at karma. Birgitte will try to kill Bela with her silver arrow, while Bela will chew on Birgitte's braid to get some roughage. Elayne takes another bath, and throws out a baby with the bathwater.
