also... lower to the ground. but not too low. CRV right now, good height, but too expensive to get a new one of those. my friend always had jeeps, but she had alot of accidents in them. plus hate the new ones.

Good point. That reminds me of the one hummer we have here in town. XD

something american, small/medium SUV or big sedan, that can take what i'm going to put it through.

peopel say ford can be trused now, but... people sya so many things.

You said bad roads. A CRV is a pavement princess.

The Rubicons are tweaked enough that they look better than the normal jeep.

Safety features? It has a roll cage. biggrin.gif

Test drive and consumer reports.

I've only owned American except for one car in college and I've never had problems with them. Treat it nice and it will treat you nice.

the CRV has 140K of rough miles on it and it's feeling them. it's saved me with a couple of deer, tho, bounced off like they were nothing.

need the ABS, and the tipping control or whatever they call that.

really not a jeep though. sigh.

i'll just drive this thing into the ground... or a guardrail.. and buy in a panic like i always do.

Drive them till they die. Putting a fraction of a new car payment back each month will take care of repairs. Four of my last cars I've bought, I bought with more than 120,000 miles on them.

i don't understand the consumer reports, test driving tells me nothing cause i don't understand cars. i press the gas, they go, i steer, i brake. it either sters like a kotex carton full of books, or it sticks the road. beyond that i don;t get the subtleties.

everyone around here's driving them hyundais, which i hate, cause i understand that much about cars, or subarus, which.... blech, and way too expensive.

the roads don't treat them nice even if i try. again, know nothing about cars, just ahve to buy what the mechanic says or make do. and i don't buy what the mechanic says, so.

have a feeling i'm gonna end up at the ford dealer needing a car yesterday.

yep. i'll just drive it till it dies and hope it doesn't take me with. feeling the car reaper's call, but everyone says i should get another 60K. not too sure about that.

They are getting the Versa. It gets 40 mpg. I'm sorry I don't like Chevy or Fords. I liked my little Saturn out there. Jeeps...those I like and I like the boys that drive Jeeps. :)

Let me amend the Ford statement: I like their trucks and the mustang. Their sedans no.

boys that drive jeeps are fine. jeeps are fine. i'm not a good enough driver to handle one well.

trucks are too much for me in general. thinking of a real old pontiac kinda thing, or an olds. something comfortable that lasts forever. but not around here i guess.

cindy this may be late but tests show that the ford hilux is INDESTRUCTIBLE (Jeremy Clarkson voice)

Just watched a video/heard a song that makes me feel...really really weird. I'm not sure if I feel defiled or not.
