To change the tune I softly sing

A melody of fading chimes

My breath must flow, my voice must wing

Away into the farthest climes

To find the feelings needed most

To fuel the pow'r of haunting sound

To call your name as wraith or ghost

And reach you with a grasp profound

Thus it returns to place in me

The many threads of woven song

A fabric made of mystery

To match my voicing, clear and strong

Alas, the labors of my soul

Are buried

By the very spam

They strove to support

Should I paint my thoughts on a canvas of paper

For myself alone?

What are they to me,

For I know them all

And none is secret?

If I can reach but one soul

With the words my heart bids me say

That is a glad, glad day.

*steals some Sara Teasdale for a bit*

I am not yours, not lost in you,

Not lost, although I long to be

Lost as a candle lit at noon,

Lost as a snowflake in the sea.

*just cos I love this poem*

You love me, and I find you still

A spirit beautiful and bright,

Yet I am I, who long to be

Lost as a light is lost in light.

*and the choral piece that this poem inspired and is set to by Z. Randall Stroope is simply gorgeous*

Oh plunge me deep in love -- put out

My senses, leave me deaf and blind,

Swept by the tempest of your love,

A taper in a rushing wind.

Anyway...

If I could touch someone

The way others have touched me

That is the desire of my soul

My heart

My deepest being

To love, to cherish, to nurture

To aid, to help to grow

To be the one who understands

I strive to be this:

The one that can be turned to

When all else is dark

And uncertain.

To this end I write

My pen to paper, my hands to keys

Unleash the torrent of me that flows

To show the world I am

What I am

And made of all the things

That other people fight

In their darkest beings

In their blackest nights

I know it, and you are not alone

Ahh, a sweet tangent that may be

To discuss my love for poetry

And why I write for all to see

Once started on a thinking spree

And now I'll start to rein it in

And slowly start to tone it down

My time is nearly up and then

For hours I'll not be around.

Just six more posts in this dear thread

To reach a milestone tonight

Well, morning; I should be in bed

But I will sleep before first light.

In 3-ish hours, or 4, mayhaps

The sun will rise, and I'll ignore

The light seeping through the cracks

Of my windows, and my door

Unless the cycle has begun

Of which I've prayed to be exempt

I wouldn't sleep until it's done

For wakefulness, I'd feel contempt

I fear that this may be the case

But I have methods to combat it

Maybe they will win the race

And I will sleep, a dreaming addict

Before I go, I wish to say

If you've enjoyed the poems you see

Then please, oh, please, go back a page

Which has wonderful effort for you from me.

Goodnight, my someone, goodnight, my love....

Sleep tight, my someone, sleep tight, my love

BLAH BLAH BLAH

GOOD NIGHT, GOOD NIGHT!!
