Heh I tried that

Apparently at one time in Tygerberg's histroy, they gave lectures in the main hall of what was at the time the only res there

and the lecturers had a device to make them audible to the  entire class (like a mike but older-school tech)

Now, because this transceiver was basically just sending out radio waves with the lecturer's voice, some bright spark (or really lucky person) found that you could actually pick up the lecturer talking on a normal radio

I don't know, but they obviously didn't check to see if I was hidden here :P

 

So people began staying in their beds, listening to the lecturers on their radios in real time.

That's awesome

 

 

eventually the lecturers caught on and started making roll calls, but still, shows some serious student ingenuity

(baryons be subatomic particles made of three quarkies)

 

as I found out, it seems I just didn't know the name
