It's one of my favorites too, so I don't think it's neccisarily weird. Now comes the hardest one in the series. I've see people describe it as "Everyone reacting to what happened in Winter's Heart for 700 pages".

That's weird. I love Lord of Chaos.

Something about the status quo changing when Taim makes the Aes Sedai kneel.

I think my least favorite part of where Shad is is Perrin. There is no reason Malden needed to span 4 books.

Perrin does annoy me a great deal, and when I saw him on the cover of WH I didn't have high hopes.  But it turned out to be a relatively rather brief segment of that book, and all front loaded.

It wasn't that I disliked the developments from Lord of Chaos through Path of Daggers, they just seemed to me to come very sporadically amidst long long stretches of forgettable characters squabbling about successions and eyeing each other funny in military camps.

Is it a good thing or a bad thing that I let random.org decide the gender of my main character?

I do know it is very much like me to get a male character out of it, then spend half an hour thinking about the name (which is what I always use as base for the personality) and then decide on a female character anyways...
