On the other hand, if we look at Mat's timeline in ToM it should be a lot longer than that. Mat arrives in Caemlyn and writes Elayne a letter. He then waits for her response and stews that none is coming. That's 3 days right there.

 

Worse, that should be about 10 days as Mat's thinking about opening the letter (and he promised not to open it for at least 10 days.

 

All in all, the timeline is a mess.

Which is surprising, giving how they supposed to have a detailed one. Shouldn't be THAT hard to place some events on that?

One little trick that helps resolve most of the timeline issues in ToM.

Reference every possible timeline to Veins of Gold.

The Mat-Verin timeline has genuine problems as Herid mentioned above.

The other ones sort out, or are left deliberately vague but not inconsistent. (I won't say more since you're early in the reading).
