So, leyrann and I are officially Rival Bonded. We made that up. This is the BT, so we can do stuff like that here.

So, anyone good at making siggies and feel like making us some...? We'll give you some brownies...

Characteristically for us, we didn't really think it through that far. We'll get back to you on that.

they could sing the barney song

This is an EVVVIIIllLLLLLL idea kitteh, I kinda like it. And then after any conflict, chess, DS etc. the loser has to sing it again.

Great!

I think you have to ask Talya for the tainted brownies but I can sing a tainted song. (I guess I can use the OP to make it sound good. )

untainted, but still evil, brownies - add taint as desired.

melt 1 - 1/4 cups butter or margarine, and beat with 4 cups sugar.

one by one, beat in 8 eggs. don't over-beat, just get them combined well.

stir in 2 teaspoons vanilla (i don't care what anybody says, good fake vanilla tastes better when baked than real vanilla; the real stuff is too delicate to hold up to the heat. it's your call, though.)

whisk together 2 cups flour, 1 - 1/4 cups cocoa, and 1 teaspoon salt, and stir into egg mixture until just combined.

stir in 2 cups chopped nuts (walnuts are classic, but use what you like; pecans are excellent) and 2 cups chopped good chocolate, or chocolate chips (white chocolate chips look pretty here but don't add much in the way of flavor, or evil). other interesting optional additions are peanut-butter cups, or peppermint patties, or any other delicious little candy things you enjoy, poked down into the batter.

bake in greased, at least 3" deep, 13 x 9 pan (or a 2" deep 15 x 10 pan, if you don't want to fully commit to evil) at 325 degrees.

13 x 9 will be done in about an hour. 15 x 10 in 40 - 45 minutes.

when done, brownies should still be fairly gooey in the center, and will never pass a cake test; they should be just set, like a firm custard or pumpkin pie; very slightly wobbly, but not too jiggly. if they've poofed up and cracked on top, they're overdone for my taste, but if you cut off the edges, they'll still be yummy. and you can crumble up the crunchy edges to use in ice cream cakes, or what have you.

if you truly wish to please the dark one, cover the top of the still hot, just baked brownies with chocolate bars or chocolate chips. in about 10 minutes, the chocolate will have melted so that you can take a knife and smooth it over the top like a candy coating. score the top while the chocolate is still a little soft, so that you can cut the brownies more easily when they're cool.

to make these less evil, substitute 1 - 1/4 cups unsweetened apple sauce for the butter, and 16 egg whites for the eggs. (i suppose you could reduce the sugar by at least 1 cup, but i haven't tried that yet.) skip the chocolate chips. these brownies will bake to a cake-like consistency, and will pass a cake test. when done, they'll be springy to the touch, and a straw or other cake tester poked into the center will come out almost clean. they are surprisingly moist and delicious, but really not as evil as they should be. the dark one would not be pleased. still, with some whipped cream and a little chocolate syrup, they seem naughty enough.
