Those circles are in HP too. At the end, Harry and Volly circle around each other many times. It's just something you do, when waiting for the other to try to attack.

Hey guys, if your creating weapons out of OP, the best thing for a shield is a Hsmmer or axe. Even if you don't break it there is a good chance of breaking the arm holding it.

But those OP shields absorb the speed of the sword. You barely feel it.
