Why would I want to be promoted in the SS?

Promote you as in say that you are definitely the one for the job,basically convince people in the SS to want you as the SGL.

Actually I don't, it was just something a friend posted, and I read it twice, seriously laughing both times.

 

I tend to avoid such pages on FB

If that's the stuff they post, I'm sure it is. But I tend to go to other websites for such things. My facebook is extremely cluttered already, so keeping my news feed limited to what I want to read about is a chore already.
