Perrin had been training hardcore every night leading up to that night.

Egwene has been busy with other things and has been a little slack in TAR, she's rusty.

Suffice to say, it's not a very good indication of who will be stronger in TAR, it just shows, at that time, that Perrin was in more control of his abilities and capabilities than Egwene was of hers.

channelers do forget to do things other ways and so the first thing they think to do is channel and so that weakens them. Perrin who cant channel never had to relearn essentially, he only had to learnt he one way of doing things, using thought to control.

There is also a quote from Cadsuane I believe, that say something like Dogs are unable to tell the difference between woman who can channel and Cats. Pretty sure this was in book four when she was in the Sun Palace, but cant find the exact quote

 

Would this imply that Cats can channel? Maybe dogs can walk to world of dreams and cats are Over Powered channelers!!!

 

How to seal the DO? Throw a bunch of cats in there!!! :P
