I once made a 40 lb. water balloon that exploded on the kitchen counter. That was highly unfortunate.

I swam in a freshwater stream on Frazer Island just off Australia. The water was clear and warm and it had a sandy bottom. It carried you along like those water flume rides do. From a generation banned from playing in rivers and streams cos it is dangerous, it was just perfect, and totally weird it being fresh water, as I had only swum in swimming pools or the sea before.

Here!

Best watery fun - horseriding on the beach/through waves

When I went on the Spirit of New Zealand (threemaster sailing boat, iz a bit like teh Outward Bound but only for 10 days), they made us get up at 6am EVERY morning, whether it was fine or stormy, and jump off the 4m high railings into the water. And it was winter...BRRRRRRRRRR.

I got a big cold at teh end of it, but the rest of the trip made it all so much worth it :D

Also, my best friend and I restored a viking logboat last summer holidays and we went paddling on a lake singing Yo Ho Ho

I hate water right now... Went "camping" to watch alot of cool horse things.. RAINED THE WHOLE TIME.

Pandy! Whaaaat cool horse things?? :D :D :D

were you trying to kill someone?

Here in Arkansas there is always a lake around to go swimming in. Some of my best memories of my childhood was going to Greer's Ferry Lake every summer camping, swimming, and boating. I remember one year I decided to try skiing. Haha! That was a joke! I won't say anything else except I don't think I will try that again.

Here,

I live in a beach side suburb in Australia, so I go to sleep each night listening to the sound of the ocean, 200 metres away.

Also, when I went white water rafting in Austria once, I almost drowned the instructor who was guiding us. Oops!

Here!

Water, I have so many memories with water. Floating in swimming, cycling home from school in rain without a raincoat, watching rain from my room, jumping in puddles and irritating friends.

Come summer I will be looking forward to water fights and swimming.... If I'm lucky and can hammer some organisation into my friends I might even go the to coast!

Here too

Here!

Water. When I was little, I was swimming in a friend's pond. Which was full of fish. They convinced me to swim out to the raft in the middle of the pond. So I did. I climbed up, and then I saw a fish underneath the raft. I would not come down off that raft for an hour because of that fish. As I said, I was little, and I had it in my head that the fish was going to eat me. It wasn't even that big, I just didn't want it touching me. My dad was getting angry to the point that he was threatening to leave me in the middle of their pond unless I went back into the water and came back to shore. So I finally came back to the shore. And I never went swimming in their pond again.

I was only just accepted yesterday so I think I should post here, right?

Water huh? My brother used to terrify me as a kid that there was an octopus in the drain of the pool and if I was ever in the water by myself it would reach out and pull me under. To this day I still get a lil freaked out when swimming hahaha.

I love water. A lot. Water has always been my favourite thing about nature. From walking in clay streams to school, to swimming in the ocean, to exploring rivers, to admiring waterfalls, to playing in the rain, to gulping down a mouthful of H2O, water is the most amazing thing ever. It feels great, looks pretty, tastes awesome, and is just an all around boss.

here, though lurky as always.

I'm a Scorpio, a water sign. My mom is a cancer- also a water sign. When I was a kid, she was always saying that we'd just go home and get our toothbrushes and not stop driving till we hit the beach. Last Spring, we actually did it.

Present!

I just got back from a canoe trip and the canoe I was in tipped three times. Even bent in half at one point.

The wheel of time turns, and Fox News comes and pass. I was, I will, and I am currently present and may yet fall under the shadow.

I'm here!

And I love rain! The only reason I do now, though, is that last summer...we didn't have any for three months! Three months of no rain and 100+ degree weather every day.

I live in an area that hardly gets any rain. It rains about 10-20 days total out of the year, the rest of the time it's usually hot. So I REALLY like it when it rains.

I love swimming competitively, but I hate snow, for reasons described HERE. Plus I live right near a huge blue thing called the Pacific Ocean.

New month. Yesterday I swam for the first time in a lake this summer. And today I walked in the ocean. So this roll call theme will be water - one of our five elements.

5 points for signing in and 5 points for telling a story about water, or telling us about why you love/hate water or... anything water related.

A reminder: Everyone must read and sign the DM/BT CoC. Don´t make me hunt you down and force you to sign. I´m way to lazy and it would be an unpleasant experience for you. :baalzamon:

One post only!

I'm new here, but when I clicked that link, it gave me an error....

So I hope I'm doing this right, but here's my water story:

In Jr. High I went on a seadoo/jetskiing trip with some friends. There were adults to supervise and drive the boats for waterskiing, tubing, etc. It was at a fairly large house rented on a lake, with an awesome dock that the girls would go tanning on when not out in/on the water. The cool thing was to do fly-by's of the dock and wave to people. So....

I was being towed on a tube behind a seadoo by one of the adults, and we were going to do a fly-by... well, he miscalculated the length of the rope and the angle of his attack, because as he turned away from the dock, i was drifting pendulum style straight at the dock... with people on it... which the tube hit... dumping me out... and (from eyewitness accounts) I apparently flew about 6 feet through the air doing flips "like i was dead" or "like a rag doll"... and proceeded to fall harmlessly into the water on the other side. I barely knew what happened :)

During the same trip, I was driving a seadoo with a girl I liked on the back, and after doing donuts for about 5 straight minutes, she flew off the back and under the water. I killed the engine and just kinda floated there looking for her... and her head popped out of the water and smack into the nose of the seadoo, popping out one of her front teeth. I felt horrible.

I love the water, but that weekend was "traumatic" to put it mildly.

Enjoy :)
