I believe Ish calls him the trickster, too. It's in one of the first two books I believe. I think it's the first time you see him handling the little figurines of the 3 guys

Didn't Faile say outright in one of her POV's that married rulers of Saldaea are co-rulers, not consorts? I'm pretty sure I remember that ... I'll see if I can find it.

You are probably thinking of this mention in the entry about Saldaea in the Glossary of ToM - "The husband or wife of a Saldaen ruler is not simply a consort, but an almost co-equal ruler".

 

No, I remember it from before ToM came out - and I remember Faile being a little snarky about the southerners and their marriage habits.
