it's hard to know... when it's like this they just start to lie after a while. i think hey must get death threats from idiots who believe the forecasters control the weather or something.

I know. They call for rain and we get nothing. Then it's supposed to be a sunny day and it pours.

 

They love to forecast the snow though. Lots of snow.

they like to use that weather alert siren too. they never did that before 1993, not once. now they do it once a week all winter.

the emergency broadcast system, when they interrupt every channel with the siren, every tv and radio station, every store, every .... you don't get the siren there?

Oh, I really don't watch tv. We probably do. Used to get it in FL all the time for tornadoes, hurricanes, severe thunderstorms and such.

we got it for the big blizzard in april 1993, and then they never stopped. but i never heard it once before that, except as a test of the emergency broadcast system. it's supposed to be for nuclear attacks and such.

I do recall it was quite annoying.

 

The only actual siren that scared me was the tornado siren that went off down the street from my house when I was living in GA. I pulled the dog into the bathroom with me since there were no windows in there. Really wished we had a basement.

by the time they know the tornado is coming, it's too late for me to get to someone else's basement, too. luckily they're pretty hit or miss here, and except for this summer not usually too big.
