Who here plays an instrument?

Featured Replies

Soooooooo... who here avidly plays an instrument? I'm a piano player and loove jazz. Though I rareely watch it, anime produces some of the most amaaa-zing music out there. It has a whole different vibe to it. And game music. Final Fantasy, Zelda, Chrono Cross, etc.

When university kicks off this Sept. I plan on going straight to the music department and finding a violin teacher.

Anyone else a fan of this sort of thing?

I played trumpet and trombone when I was in high school. I played in the pit for both musicals my school put on, the symphonic band, the marching band. I was in the jazz band too - and somehow got stuck with all the solos even though I wasn't very good at them. I intend on joining the U of M marching band next year too if my schedule lets me. I miss playing my instrument.

Used to play clarinet in concerto and marching band, also played violin, which I lettered in and was one of two violinists from school to play in all region orchestra for 3 years straight, and taught myself to play trumpet. I haven't played any at all in almost 20 years though.

I sing, passably well at least (but I do love to sing, no matter what others think of my skill)... and play keyboard for my church. I compare my piano/keyboard ability to my mom and my brother, which means I'm moderately skilled at best. They're both pretty darn awesome.

I took guitar lessons for a year, and really liked it, but I decided I also liked having fingernails on *both* hands, and didn't really spend enough time practicing to build up the calluses I needed.

I play piano *mostly classical) and I am learning the flute at the moment :)

I play violin, mostly folk music for other people, classical for myself, though, I like folk music too. I also used to play the pan pipes but I put those aside awhile ago, because they are hard for me to play because of...mouth problems >_>. But I am sure I can pick them back up and with a little practice, be back to where I was. Can also play bodhrán, but, well, I am not too fond of drumming.

Yeah...part of it is a cleft lip .

Ahh I see. That's too bad, what with your avatar I was getting a cool mental image of you playing the pan pipes

I can play the french horn and the clarinet. I can play wonderwall by oasis on the guitar and eine kleine nacht musik on the piano.

I'm a car kareoke genius - especially to Total Eclipse of the Heart :baalzamon:

I used to play piano, I haven't in years so I'm extremely out of practice. I do play flute and piccolo on a regular basis as I'm in a community band and recently I took up the bassoon for a change of pace :)
