^First song I learned on piano that wasn't a classic. Changed my life, not even kidding.

I think that the game it's from changed my life. Never thought I could say that, but it's true.

Well, it definitely changed mine. Time well spent!

OMG that guy is amazing! I think I have a whole new appreciation for solo guitar. I mean, Spanish guitar is amazing, but this is equally great.

How is he doing that percussion without ending up with black and blue hands?

I miss this guitar. It had what is called "The Tree of Life" inlay. In my head, I always thought of it as the Avendoraldera Inlay.

Yes, that's me in the pic too

...what happened to the guitar? It's beautiful.

I played trumpet and trombone when I was in high school. I played in the pit for both musicals my school put on, the symphonic band, the marching band. I was in the jazz band too - and somehow got stuck with all the solos even though I wasn't very good at them. I intend on joining the U of M marching band next year too if my schedule lets me. I miss playing my instrument.

Yes! I hope you find the time to join the marching band! I am so jealous. Doesn't U of M have a really good marching band?

You in a band Kovan?

@ Matty: So you're pretty good huh? Are all of your brothers and sisters musically talented?

I'm not in a band, no. My dad has played since I was a baby and I watched him and taught myself. I plan on taking intro to jazz though out at the college pretty soon so I can maybe meet some like minded individuals who might be interested in starting something up. I have to learn to read music first though lol. Or at least I hear people prefer it if you know how.

I play guitar (acoustic & electric), bass and mandolin.

Check my bands webpage: http://www.whisperwood.com/

"Progressive accoustic fantasy narrative"

Care to go into detail? Hehe

Cool music btw. Very unique sound, and crisp riffs and great solowork from what I heard

Reading music isn't always essential, kinda depends on what musical path you wanna take. Not trying to discourage it, btw. But even tho I know how to read music I hardly ever have to.

There's really just one rule in my book when it comes to music: Experiment.

Yeah, I play to whatever comes on the radio, the rock stations, new and old stuff and also I have like 15-20 cd's of songs that I personally like to play. I never play exactly the way they do, so most of what I do consists of improv. Literally no idea how to read notes. I'll have to start from the complete rudiments.

You might find that some rudimentary knowledge of music theory is prerequisite to your college jazz class. There should be an introduction to music theory class at your college. I highly recommend taking that first. It's not hard.
