Ishamael didn't remove the Taint madness, it was a completely different situation.

 

1. Lews Therin and the remaining companions were special cases. They did not succumb to the Taint, they went insane instantly, they actually touched the DO, And they went totally insane, not just seeing shadows etc.. Lews Therin actually lost his mind.

 

2. The True Power didn't Heal the Taint madness, it actually restored LTT mind. Ishamael could only grant LTT a few brief moments of lucidity. He didn't Heal the cause, he gave LTT sanity.
