The Night was almost upon them, but one had finally managed to attract the attention of the Sponsors. The now familiar sight floated into vision.

The combatants seemed almost disinterested in the Gift. Perhaps to teach them a lesson, it veered away at the last moment, landing behing a half collapsed wall in the abandoned settlement. The majority of them had avoided the buildings, perhaps finding them too confining but someone must have been in there as, when the camera found the landng spot, the gift had already been opened and its contents taken.

The cameras switched to infared mode as the daylight faded again. Now a fourth Night stretched before them. They closed their eyes and hoped for life.
