Sirens are awesome! Well until they lead you to your death, but they so pretty and have pretty voices and ooooooh........(CRASH!)

this is closer to the mark, different people singing the lyrics, though still not exactly what I heard

I wonder how bad my French would sound to a normal French speaking person (assuming I could hear something and then formulate a response)

some time listening to the language and speaking a little awkwardly, and then my Afrikaans brain engages and I'm fine

actually had a nice chat with my Afrikaans teacher about a short story today, so I think I'm fine on that front
