Being a vampire in oblivion is completely awesome until late game.

So what are the books about...obviously vampires...

Vampire Diaries, the books, are mainly about Elena, Stefan and Damon. Stefan and Damon are brother who hate each other. The reason was they loved the same woman, Katherine. Katherine died but before dying she made them both vampires. After many many years Stefan and Damon came to Fell's Church(in books) or Mystic Falls(in series). There they met Elena, who looks just like Katherine. Stefan and Damon feel in love with her but Elena loves Stefan. Then one day it is found that Katherine is not dead and she returns.

 

This is common in both the books and series. But in the series, there are hidden plots. Katherine has more role in series than in books. Other characters have hidden agendas which makes series better than books.

 

I consider vampires by LJ Smith to be better than most other vampires, certainly Twilight. Twilight changes the main facts about vampires. I like vampires who burn in sun and have fangs. And in movies Edward looks like someone dumped him in a bag of flour and still remains an idiot. Twilight just changes what are the main points of vampires. None of my friends have watched much of Vampire Diaries but they love Twilight and are waiting for Breaking Dawn Part 2. I don't think you can know vampires only from twilight.
