Witness: Card Not Shown

I might just be really stupid, and confusing with the real game. But how come no cards are shown in so many? I thought the point was elimination process by collecting cards of "wrong" guesses, but it seems here that if you get one thing right in your guess, then you get shown that card?

There are 30 cards, less the 3 chosen winning cards = 27 cards. There are 6 witnesses, which means each witness can only hold a maximum of 5 cards. This means there will be a lot of Not Shown cards to begin with.

Does that make sense?

Also, in the real game it goes faster because you already have cards, which gives you a starting point, whereas here you're just guessing for the first bit.

Ok, I think I understand then. Too used to the fact that in the RL game you always get shown a card per round if you have a faulty guess (at least that's the rules of the HP Clue game I own... )

It would go a lot faster if someone would post a guess ...

We amended the rules to slow the game down a little, so that it would be able to last the whole week, or maybe two. I can't remember how quick it completed last year actually, but I do remember asking the Maths Geeks to work out a rough idea of the time it would take to guess and stuff, cos I'm rubbish with numbers.

Egwene: was it the CoL at the WT with the ruby hilted dagger?

I must admit I was surprised to see this thread on page 3 when I got up this morning. I panicked a bit and the thought of how difficult it might to catch up . . . but it wasn't as bad as I thought it might have been!
