Winter Read List (repost!)

Featured Replies

With all this talking of p&p, I really want to watch all the different versions again, unfortunately I just don't have the time! :(

I need to see the BBC version. I think I have it coming on Netflix. The movie was okay... the scenery as someone mentioned, was awesome. One thing that bothers me about KK is her teeth... please, you have money, fix your teeth... thanks. :P

I like Colin Firth, so I'm sure I'll probably enjoy the BBC one. I know my mom did... but she looooves Colin... lol (my mom's 70 BTW).

*laughs* marvelous. Now I have to hunt down a mini-series from the bloody Brits (no offense) and try to sneak it past my husband. *smirks and sighs dramaticly* Oh, when shall it ever end!

On a side note, I realized I had a copy of P&P in my library ( ) and took it to school to read during DEAR (drop everything and read) time. A few of my girls squealed (I kid you not, I teach in the ghetto, people, and the girls squealed) that they had loved the movie and asked if I'd read them the book. LOL I was tempted until I realized how much I'd have to translate for them into modern slang so they could understand it. Harry Potter they understand (and beg for), Mr. Darcy is over their heads. LOL

See, nothing can compete with P&P. I mean really.. Mr. Darcy vs a book about.. whatever, someone getting lost in the.. whatever.

Mr. Darcy. <3

I'm reading the GRRM one. However, I haven't had much time to read lately, so I'm waaaay behind. Thus, I'm not even going to try to join in the discussion. Unless it's still going when I finally finish it. Although we'll probably be on the Spring list by then, hahahaha!

Yeah, I'm reading GRRM, too. If my "read" you mean "it's been on my night stand for two weeks and I'm 70 pages in". :P I just can't seem to read a lot in one go. I mean, the book is brilliant, probably one of the best books I've ever read, but for some reason I don't have that 'need to stay up until 4am to read'-feeling. Come to think of it I haven't had that for a very long time. I hope this doesn't mean I'm getting old and sensible.

  • 5 weeks later...

Just to let you know Mother dear, I've finally got around to buying Into the Wild. It has just arrived and I'll get to reading it soon. So you won't be the only one! :D
