I wonder if Freedom of Speech counts if your chosen sign language is fireworks at 3am.

We have fireworks for 2 weeks ... from 4 pm to 2am.

 

For 2 weeks

 

 

because of the little scallys who buy fireworks from the corner shop

I'd move. Then again, 2am is about when I go to sleep anyway so... *shrug*

 

Is the 5th a public holiday in the US or just the 4th?

 

Because otherwise that will be one terrible Friday for all the worker bees.

You should have the equivilant of Boxing Day after Christmas.

 

 

Otherwise known as 2nd Christmas recovery left over turkey day.

Boxing Day is so good. SO good. It should be called "Play with all the cool stuff you got yesterday" day. All the great food and company, without the distraction of going places and christmas and giving.

 

Urgh.

In Scotland they have New Year's Eve off so they can all go out on the Town and party.

We have new years DAY. So Jan 1. 

 

If you work December 31, you generally don't do anything but watch the clock tick down to acceptable AM drinking time for work surroundings.

 

The party afterward is a little sweeter for the toil before it, I think.

They have both.

 

 

New Year's day is just to recover.

I love how the world just shuts down for no real reason apart from a calender changing dates.
