Assuming the world is the east coast of Australia, New Zealand, anda few various Pacific islands.

Meh. The World Series is about as international as the FA Cup. MLB currently has one team based in Toronto and 29 teams based in the USA. International baseball has the World Baseball Classic now and it's growing in popularity but too many of the professional superstars still can't be bothered to play in such things.
