What is Hearthstone - it sounds awesome!

It's free to download off of Blizzard's website.

 

It's a card game - a bit like Magic I guess. You have various main characters and they have their skills and minions and you play against other people to win quests and gold.

 

And then you can use the gold to buy more cards.

And apparently there are crazy people that have too much real cash and spend actual money to buy cards.

 

My priest deck is getting better. The rogue is the one I don't like using so much.

I never played any of their games before. I'd heard too many stories of people losing months of their lives.

 

But this is a simple drop in and out 10 minute max is game.

I played almost everything they made up until WoW.  Even then, they were still ok for a bit though.  The merger with Activision killed their edge though.

Also, I'm kinda trying to stay away from video games in general atm.

It isn't illegal downloads or peer-to-peer or piracy right? If it's a legitimate business then I don't see why it shouldn't be allowed.

It's free to download and free to play.

 

It's just the open beta version at present so we are all testers.

Nothing illegal, I just don't recall all the rules for links to other sites. Cool. 

 

It is a fun game. It does kinda stink that I can only play against friends from US and southeast asia. The other day I did play against someone named pianoplayer.

I done my quest for the day and managed to go shopping.

 

Really annoyed someone who got me down to 2 points and then the perfect card I needed just appeared on my next turn.

It is very annoying that Europeans and Americans are being kept on separate servers, but that might be cos it's still in beta.
