I could see how coming to Israel could cause a cultural shock for people. Common courtesy isn't that common here lol

 

That's not true. People were totally nice from my experience. Not that I got out much, and when I did, I was the odd person that didn't speak any Hebrew.

 

I experienced some culture shock when I moved to Qatar in high school. My dad was on a work assignment and it was completely different than I thought it would be. I'm not really sure what I expected, but for a 14 year old from Texas/New Jersey/Virginia it was definitely an experience. This was pre-9/11 (2 months before it, actually), so things were different than they are now. I guess I kind of dealt with it. It got boring pretty quickly though, since there wasn't much to do.

I'm going to interpret that as "people like me better than they like you". :P

 

Edit: To be fair, the Israeli I live with is kind of a jerk. I get no courtesy from that one. :|
