I advise just skipping the rest of CoT. You will catch on quickly about the precious few things you missed when you start KoD. I think KoD is better but far from the heights of Wheel of Time. In my opinion, Sanderson did a commendable job -- he had a daunting job and knew he'd be watched like a hawk -- but I was ultimately disappointed.
