Also, Brandon Sanderson says hi to all of you.

He is so wonderful! I hope he never looses that personal fondness for fans. Some authors (like Rothfuss at JordanCon) don't have that good relationship with fans. He kept us all at a distance, while Brandon was so welcoming and kind.

 

Why was Rothfuss at JordanCon anyway? 

I love it when authors are really nice and excited to meet their fans. If I get my books published, I'd be that type of author.

JordanCon always has a special author guest of honor.  Last years was Rothfuss.  This years will be Saladin Ahmed!  I'm so excited to meet him!

Oh, that makes sense.

 

I've never heard of Saladin Ahmed.

You'd like him, Dawn.  His series only has one book out currently, Throne of the Crescent Moon, but I think the next is due out soon.  It's set in a fantasy world, but based on Middle Eastern locations and mythology.  It was really good!

 

He did an episode of Writing Excuses, and he let DM members ask him questions two years ago.

Rothfuss was really, really sick at JordanCon. He came close to canceling his appearance, but his doctor cleared him to travel and said he wasn't infectious. He is normally much more social. 

 

Anyways, an account of Brandon's school visit with pictures would make a lovely front page article. Hint. Hint.
