Rules that come to mind to me for a necro'd thread being worthy of points:

 

Thread must be dead for at least a month.

 

Person to bring the thread back isn't the thread's creator.

 

5 different people post after necro. (can include creator)

 

Thread creator and person to necro the thread receive points.

Hard enough to happen that it happening is worth something imo.

Pretty sure if they still do hot threads you'd be getting points for an old thread you started but panchi would know for sure

The "normal" rules (for a new thread) are 40 posts in one month for 5 points, 80 for 10 and 120 for 15, so this looks a bit easy imo.

To be fair, I didn't know the "normal rules" as I haven't bothered with points. I was just giving my opinion on how to implement it.

I was thinking of starting giving x points per y posts but it looks too tedious to calculate
