About Me

Hello! Usually I would introduce myself as a girl, but I think I am nearing an age where that term seems invalid. I am of female gender and born in the very small country of Denmark. Some of you might have heard of it, we have been quite infamous for certain liberties and a considerable amout of foolhardiness. I suppose I am like many from my country and though I seem to be different. I like what the Danes call hygge which is essentially a calm and cozy atmosphere build in the company of people you care about. Hygge usually involves either games, I am personally very fond of strategy and quiz games, movies, of which I favour fantasy, thrillers and the occasional comedy, or drinking, which I honestly do not spend much time with. For years we had the proud statistics of being the young people in Europe who drank the largest amount of alchohol, unlike many others I found that horrifying. I am also slightly concerned by the rising level of ignorance and pigheadedness in the population; though I like my country and its freedom of speech there is such a thing as just being plain stupid.

I have spend the last couple of years since high school in random thoughts. Okay, first I studied to become an elemtary school teacher and I really found the practise revarding, but all good things must come to an end. The lessons were boring and superficial, which seems to be an unfortunate side effect of increased taxes yet continued decrease in our welfare system. As you can here I am not satisfied, I am a socialist and I find it hard to accept that we have to pay more yet settle for less. Anyway, eventually I quit the education and roamed about for half a year before I could start on something new. So I tried Japanese studies. I think that might have been the best thing I have ever done for myself. I met lots of people with whom I shared many common interest, and learning about the Japanese systems I suddenly felt increasingly comfortable in Denmark. I do however admire many of their traditions and views of life, some of which have become very dear and personal to me. However, I didn't pick up the language fast enough and found it hard to keep pace with the others; actually we were quite a few who suddenly fell behind. This is the reason I today present myself as a biology student at the university. Soon I will have tried three different groups of study and yet I still feel more secure and more comfortable in the world of books. If I though I could live as a writer I would take the chance, but I have to be realistic; the odds of making it are small. I will try to be creative though, and who knows, maybe one day you will see a book from me.

That concludes the end of my ramblings. Nice to meet you and I hope I didn't scare you away!
