About Me
salutations! I be the merry Gleeman who roams the hamlets on an old wheezing horse, entertaining the rustics with many a song and tale and balloon-animal!
but seriously, I have been reading and respecting Wheel of Time ever since Eye of the World was published all those many years ago, way back when Winternight was ruined by nasty Shadowspawn and those young villagers were forced to flee the Two Rivers... yes, I was fleeing with them! & I've never looked back.
in addition to other scribbling and typing obligations, I am currently engaged in writing 'He Sleeps Under the Hill' which was intended as a novella but has assumed big fat Wheel of Time book dimensions over the course of this last year. HSUtH is being posted, chapter by chapter, on fanfiction.net - yes, I am a fanfictioner! sorry! but I am proud of my book and the b-list characters I have invented, who occasionally interact with minor players from Robert Jordan's impressive cast but are certainly not invited to share a bath or drink honeyed wine with the likes of Rand and Egwene, Mat, Perrin or Nynaeve (who is my favourite!)
He Sleeps Under the Hill is a bit of a slow-burner and the eponymous Hero of the piece has spent more than three thousand years inside a stasis box of the Age of Legends, waiting to be awoken by his Heroine, a young Aes Sedai of the Blue Ajah. three-and-one-half millennia - and half a book! but the recent posting of Chapter 6 means that Book I is now done, so with the commencement of Book II, our Hero will finally be free of the box, awakening to a world that is very different from that in which he went to sleep. and I will be posting Chapter 7 very soon now - before the Feast of Lights!
though intended as a respectful tribute to the life and legacy of James Oliver Rigney jnr. whose work I admire every bit as much as that of JRR Tolkein, He Sleeps Under the HIll is also meant to give my fellow WoT fans something to read while we all wait for A Memory of Light. impatiently!
if you would like to know more, please go to 'fanfiction.net' and check out He Sleeps Under the Hill by Bob G Leeman, which can be found under Wheel of Time books. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I have enjoyed writing it.
Walk in the Light!
