  1. "Where one's not enough and three's too many And two bring a man to his knees" So the lyrics has a third meaning I didn't pick up on till someone else pointed it out to me (1) landscape Hills (2) bosom (3) the statue (where a collared man is on his knees with 2 women)
  2. I saw an interview with Kate Fleetwood - She also read part of the books and remembered that Liandrin slips back into her rougher accents when under pressure. When she she saw the script for s3 that Liandrin was going back to her home in Tarabon and the setting in docks, she tied it to her family, who were from Liverpool, and apparently a lot of them worked in the docks and seamen. So she thought, wouldn't it be great if Liandrin's home accent is Scouse and so she suggested it so that Liandrin could slip into scouse accent when under pressure. And they told her to go for it
  3. My DnD mind popped out "Shillelagh?!" during that scene.🤣
  4. Discovered another cool bit about the hills of Tanchio while searching for the lyrics (and pointed out by someone on a youtube comment). It has a line from TSR 54 which I have underlined (below quote copied from https://wot.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_songs#cite_note-4-54-13) I Have Loved a Thousand Sailor Men: A song taught by Temaile to Amathera. My breasts are round, and my hips are too I can flatten a whole ship's crew. My thighs are strong are strong as anchor chain. My kiss can burst Tales of Tanchico City (nicked off a youtube comment) I'll tell you a tale of a lad of twenty A Tarabon boy with coin aplenty Went looking for love and more's the pity Now he's lost in the hills of Tanchico city Where one's not enough and three's too many And two bring a man to his knees Hey! The hills of Tanchico The hills of Tanchico Hey! These hills will flatten a whole ship's crew These hills will make a man out of you The hills of Tanchico The hills of Tanchico Hey! These hills will flatten a whole ship's crew These hills will flatten a whole ship's crew These hills will make a man out of you These hills will make a man out of you The hills of Tanchico The hills of Tanchico Hey! The hills of Tanchico The hills of Tanchico Hey! More songs pls
  5. 😅 I can't say it really bothered me. In hindsight, maybe a missed opportunity to try choreograph something bawdy with the women folding their arms under their bosoms for a song about bosoms as a nod and wink to those who know. Whether that would be successful is another thing of course.
  6. Really enjoyed this episode - especially the Tanchico bits. Favourite part: Elayne requesting for Hills of tanchico. Thom asking "are you sure?" As the lyrics went on something like "one is not enough but three is too many" and Elayne caught sight of a lady moving her hands down her bosom, Elayne's Pikachu face realising what the song is about
  7. I can't of any reason Leane would look like this besides the tower coup
  8. I agree with what you say about the situation with Moraine and Siuan. I found it extremely tragic for them for what they had sacrifice. I enjoyed a lot of the other scenes as well, all the dream scene, Moiraine scene with Lan with the Oosquai, and Alanna's scene. I suspect this season will kill off both Moraine and Siuan, and Siuan's character after her fall will be merged with Leane. I would be surprised if they keep both actresses on. Also have been wondering if they will give Lan's bond to Alanna since Alana feels like a merge of Alanna and Myrelle and drop the Rand forced bond storyline - can't quite predict that one - Alanna has suddenly gone all edgy and needing to win the last battle.
  9. I will take a wild guess that I enjoyed e5 more than most people 😅 Costume department are great - Matt's dream wearing a mini horn round his neck made me chuckle
  10. IMHO, I think it is for television purposes that we see "Rand" as his ancestors—likely just a way to indicate whose point of view we’re following and tying the link to Rand.
  11. Don't recall hearing that. But when Rand's ancestor asked what was in there, she said "True Power", it sounded like "Sai-hyet" - which then dawned on me that we never had an Old Tongue word for True Power in the books.
  12. Only touching on this on the aspect of real life beliefs, since you mention real world and I have no real interest in going into the debate about the change in reincarnation rules in the wot. While I'm now atheist, I grew up in a household with a religion that believes in the cycle of reincarnation. It actually feels more natural to me (no doubt due to indoctrinated upbringing) that reincarnation has no boundary in terms of sex or even species. I grew up with the understanding that a person can reincarnate as the opposite sex, or even animal or even a cockroach in their next life.
  13. This appeared in one of my feeds today - it seems like there is a WoT time spinoff animation in the works https://winteriscoming.net/2023/10/19/dc-alum-jay-oliva-direct-animated-the-wheel-of-time-movie-the-white-tower/ That puzzled me as it didn't appear to be linked with Amazon. A little internet sleuthing led me to discover that Red Eagle sold the rights to the book series storyline to Amazon but apparently "still have the rights to untold stories in the Wheel of time Universe and timeline". The Cursed Wheel Of Time Movie You Were Never Supposed To See (screenrant.com) Apparently, there were even older news about a 3 part animated Movie about the Age of Legends - but looking at the writers names, it may be that the White Tower is movie 1 of the Age of Legends (which the WT doesn't exist in the AoL, but appeared after the breaking). Not sure how I feel about this. On the one hand I have always felt WoT would have been better told in animation if going on screen. But on the other, I am pretty sure RJ did not want spin offs (unless I misremembered). But then why did he sell the rights in that manner to Red Eagle 2004 when he was live? I guess he could have changed his opinion after the sale of the rights.
