Fire. Ash. Embers on the Wind. A whirl of sensations, he had always seen and understood, but never felt. Not Belial. Not him...

The water engulfed the bodies hungrily, as it had to so many ones before. The Eye of the Depths and Willful Sorrow had barely pulled their many mooring lines before a cloud of burning ash and flaming droplets of tar, along with the charred remains of the scouts sent out, had engulfed the two ships. Oh light, he could hear there screams. Stormrunner was next as it quickly scudded the waves, yearning to clear the shoreline and the madness of the island. As it cleared the point, it exploded into flaming debris, bodies and chunks of wood flying for many yards. Finally only the Trinities Courage, his own ship was left. The captain had extended all oars, and unfurled all sails in fleeting hope of escaping the fiery destruction engulfing so many others.
