This discussion covers all books through The Towers of Midnight. Do NOT post anything from AMoL! You have been warned!!! As it is the books that brought us here and it shall be the books that keep us here! This is the reason we participate in monthly regimental book discussions. Each month, one of the regiments will host a discussion based on the books and the Band of the Red Hand. However, every fourth month, a member of the Senior Staff will begin a discussion on the main Band boards which will encompass either a new topic or a review of the three topics discussed by each regiment. These discussions can concentrate solely on Mat, the other characters that we meet …

So I met Halli this last weekend. I came down to see her because Disneyland is all done up for Halloween. Thursday we spent a little time in the park and fun was had by all. Then we went back to her house and slept and Friday I kind of just hung out. Although Halli was wonderful and took me down to the beach, although next time i'm in that part of town i'm going to make a pit stop over at the Marine Corp base and get an escort I didn't like being just the two of us in that part of town. *shudders* However, Halli took me to a great Gelato shop and we had Keylime Pie Gelato...Yum! Seeing the waves crash on the beach was great fun too. I love the beach so much! Then we went …

Jea walks around casually, holding a precariously wrapped package. She motions for those out and about to gather around before shouting loudly ATTENTION BFG, YOUR PRESENCE IS REQUESTED! Once Jea sees the Game Master approach, she begins to mentally prepare her short, and obviously unpracticed, speech. "For wondrous services, exemplary completion of staff duties as Game Master, especially through monthly activity-generating events, and creating a new Guide to the Game, I, as the Marshal-General, am proud to present you with an award of great value." Jea started to unwrap the precarious package, muttering to herself the whole time not to drop it. As she unravel…

I personally studied both Krav Maga and Aikido for a few years, Aikido because my parents sort of forced me, and Krav cause I later did some research of what I wanted to do. Anyway, write about your previous experiences, training, thoughts etc. I posted a little essay I wrote for one of my Senseis about a comparison between Aikido and Krav Maga over at the warder's barracks if you wanted to check that out too. http://www.dragonmount.com/forums/topic/85201-a-compative-study-between-the-difference-of-aikido-and-krav-maga/?p=3048995 In either case. Talk! *Pulls up a chair and waits*

So straight up, this is the musical I have seen more than any other - and more than most films I own on DVD. I watched it for the first time when I was about 13 on a trip to London with my family, again at 14 and 16 with school (I don't know why they kept choosing Les Mis, but...), again at 22 and most recently at 28... Suffice to say I love this musical and will happily see it live pretty much anywhere. This is about the stage production musical, not the film as I have not seen the film, and under consideration of the reviews probably won't. The videos are from different productions, dependent on what I found on Youtube. I'm not going to post videos of every…

After a few months of planning, boring data entry, and general cleaning of our Restaurant and Holiday Reviews, we are pleased to announce the official launch of a major overhaul! The biggest change is our new Interactive Review Map. The Restaurant and Holiday Review Guidelines have been updated as well with some fairly minor updates. The new map, however, is something we are hoping will change the reviews to make them much more useful.

I, dear friends, have just returned from a long and epic adventure, which took me far from the comforts of my home. In order to best relate my adventures I have decided to write them in both the elegant terms of Randland, providing the occasional translation to the duller, 'real life' language. Evidently deciding that we were suffering from a lack of real life, I was whisked away from my keyboard by my family on this spectacular adventure. Loading our carriage heavy, the five of us mounted up and set off together during the mid morning, leaving our faithful hound and slightly more indepentant felines in the hands of our trustworthy neighbours, moving into the u…

XD I know it's the middle of the night so I'm already delirious, but I've been rediscovering my love of Shakespeare by reading sooooo much of it in the last few days.. and it's gone to my head. Sometimes I'm a hopeless romantic sucker for pretty words. SO. I was gonna do this on fb but hey, more literature-appreciating people here XD Basically, reply here (as in, sign up) and I'll find you the PERFECT Shakespeare quote for you. Well.... as close to perfect as I can get, or at least a nice one to flatter y'all a little or until I run out...which will take a while anyway Heeeeeehehehe I'm aiming for the Guiness Book of DM Records for the most…

Ok, so I guess I should be doing this for musical of the month or something...maybe this can count for next month's motm? But anyway, I'm currently doing a musical at school-that's right folks, an entire musical, all the way through, not our usual cutting and pasting of different songs from different shows into one big vague sorta plot. And the musical we're doing is...*drum roll* *remembers it's in the thread title anyway* *doesn't care* COMPANY!!!! By Stephen Sondheim. Love that man. So, I want to introduce you all to it, because it's a very good and little known musical. By musical standards, it has very little of the 'cheese factor' you tend …

Anyone seen this? I watched it over the last couple of days with my sister-in-law and I have to say I fell shamelessly in love... Now the issue is finding someone to talk to about it! It's a mini-series, one of those things that are so bad they're fantastic, and despite the protagonist annoying the hell outta me, as per usual and despite her adorable good looks, I think I've fallen very deeply in love with a somewhat bipolar half-wolf romantic called (very creatively I must say) Wolf. I'm sort of sad this isn't something I got to watch when I was younger. Given how much I like it now, I think I would have absolutely loved it when I was little. Especially g…

Last time my quartet went out, we got about $75 each for about four hours, plus some free photos and two potential gigs that didn't turn into anything. We went out again tonight and got a business card for a guy that wants us for a few functions and $105 each for three hours. That's $421.40 total people!! WOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *keeps finding stray coins in cello case* WOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! We like Friday nights now. :) We'll be doing some more of them.

So, I used to have lots of trouble creating good measurable goals and sometimes I still find myself saying things like "My goal is to be more organized" without having any way to measure it, but then I change it to something like "I will complete all grading every night" which will help me to stay organized! What helped me to get better at this was Chalene Johnson's 30 Day Push! She has a book that's around $15, or an e-book for like $5-6 or a FREE online 30 day video series in which she pushes you to dig deep and be specific. I've been through the online series twice now and believe me, I get so much more done on a daily basis thanks to her! If you're interested,…

Ok So I am kinda resurrecting what I used to do. Except I think it will be less about how crazy the stuff is and more a bit of humour. Maybe the odd prank or two that is great. To start it all off is this lovely clip/article from upworthy. Jimmy Kimmel http://www.upworthy.com/jimmy-kimmel-duped-the-entire-world-and-the-biggest-sucker-was-the-news-cycle-2?g=2&c=ufb1 I will post more images and jokes as I get around to it. Also included will be the odd youtube video but I have some other plans to put in place.

by grading papers. I thought I would actually enjoy this part the most because I get to read what they're thinking and how they're doing, but having six different classes to keep up with, it's tiresome! For those of you in school, how's it going? For those not in school, how's it going? lol

*BB lugs her giant pile of QCS papers into the middle of the camp and stacks it up high* This is all of the exam papers, all of the practice papers and all of the idiotic classes and pretentious guest speakers that went into our demonised version of standardised testing. After two days of exams, they are OVER!!!!!!!!!! Now the reeeeeeeeeal exams can begin. But, I now have to figure out what to do with all these papers...and I'm scared of fire, so burning is out of the question. *circles giant stack of papers, glaring* Help me Banders!!! How can we destroy these without fire?
