I like the upgrade since I was last here - I know it's been a while and some peeps may not know me. I myself have been quite busy with an almost one year old, continuing graduate courses, and teaching high school English! How's life for everyone in the BotRH?! On a side note - how soon do you think I can read WoT to my child? lol

I stumbled onto them some time ago, and since I have seen no mention of this album anywhere, I thought I would mention them. Admittedly there are several notes that are terribly out of tune, but I think it should still be somewhere on DM. Here's a link to the full playlist on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpk-267X9bk&index=1&list=PLFD79BF2D4A257CB0 This one is argueably the best performed of them.

yeah, you know me. I listen to good music. People have told me, when I played in my band, that, even if they didn't like metal in general, the music we made was really good and they liked it. Before you continue this thread, I will post this warning: Hey, this is heavy metal, after all! Not everything in this thread might be PG13, so please be aware of that! Now, we'll see if non metal listeners can appreciate metal or not. We'll start soft.... in a way... This album is currently in the Dutch charts, so we'll see what you think of it: so, tune or not? tell me below! Ayreon: tune 5 vs. no tune 0 Avenged Sevenfold: tune 2 vs. no t…

Original vs Cover 2018 Edition! Somewhere Over the RaInbow I figured it was about time to revamp these bad boys. I always loved original vs covers. This time round we have an extra song because I needed all these options to grace the eardrums of all you beautiful Banders. The song is Somewhere Over the Rainbow! Garland: 4 Cassidy: 2 Sinatra: 3 A classic, right? Composed by Harold Arlen, with lyrics by Harburg, it was originally sung by Judy Garland in the Wizard of Oz, but since those days, it has exploded off into the jazz must dos and gone on from there. Everyone knows the song! There are so many versions ar…

I've been a to a lot of shows, though not so many these past few years. I used to maintain a list of all of them on another forum, but it's been dead for going on a decade. I made the mistake of posting this in the reviews forum (it's not a review) a few years ago here and I think it got deleted, so I'm going to regenerate it and update it again in a forum where I think it will be more appropriate. Feel free to post your own, discuss, etc. What prompted this? I'm seeing GWAR for a sixth time tomorrow. :) Sorry the coloring is so weird. The code tag does that, but I couldn't find any other way to post in true monospace. GWAR …

Seeing as how I'm getting a ton of heat for my policy of allowing the Social Groups to "police themselves" when it comes to drama within mafia games not on the main board, I've decided to take a firm stance that I unfortunately must extend to all relevant Social Groups (ones that host games). Until further notice, no mafia games are to be played outside of the dedicated main mafia board. The reason is, I have a usergroup set up that I can restrict people from playing mafia as needed without impacting their ability to partake it other aspects of DM. This is only in place on the main board due to how sub-boards work and how access controls work on the site. I apol…

Fellow Banders, have you already danced with our famous Jak... from your couch? I really enjoy online games where I get to fight big bad guys with a couple of friends. Latey I have tried Skyforge with Thane. The game, with its 14 classes, looks like other fantasy game but it has a very interesting sci-fi setting. AND IT'S FREE ON PS4 !!!! See how bad*** you can look : Have you tried that game? Would you be interested in playing to something similar?

Alright Banders, and those of you who decided to join us from other parts of Randland... We're here to relax but, at least in The Band, we always have to be prepared for the unexpected. In order to hone our bodies for battle, and keep in physical shape, we train with various techniques. Today we will be training by swimming and running with this fun summer race activity. ** Points to the lake at the edge of the Band's campgrounds ** We're going to begin taking sign-ups and racing across the lake... It's up to you whether you swim the whole way, swim and run across the beach or through the forests of the islands, rest for a bit on land or whatever else your …

Word from the MGJuly is now upon us which means another month has passed us by. During the past month the Band saw a great number of things... to recap: I returned from a few months, trapped in the pits of RL Chaelca was awarded the Band's greatest medal, the MG's Cross, for going above and beyond both during my absence as well as her contributions to our SG before and after that. The band began a short, mini-event for summer including a bar, the pool, a game and more. Our regimental staff for the next term began their work at selecting sub-staff which we hope to have in and announced as soon as possible. July marks the half way point for 2017 and I hope we can al…

Hi! I'm porting my Final Fantasy music game over to DM again this year. I run this on another forum every year, and last year I decided to copy it over to here too and add up all the votes between both sites. Have fun. This is a Final Fantasy music knock-out game. 128 songs from the main Final Fantasy series (1-15) will be randomly paired head-to-head. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to pick a winner in each pairing. * You can vote periodically or choose all 64 at once. I will be posting the match-ups in groups of 8 every few days with direct links to Youtube, but you can find the full first-round pairings in a spoiler tag below and search them yo…

Welcome Dragonmounter! We're back! That's right, after a few years of roaming the world and getting in to trouble and back out again, cumulating experiences and expressions and hopefully learning a few things along the way as well, we've come back home. We've cranked open the doors to the newsroom, dusted off the desks, oiled the typewriters and cracked our fingers. Who the blazing blight are we? We are the Hornsounder crew! The best flaming newspaper that ever saw the light on DM. That's who we are. That's who you can become and what you can be part of. Not a Band member? Not a problem! I went to Brussels today and I saw posters about this initiative called : The 27 countries on your plate Here is a small description : Organised by the municipality of Ixelles on European Parliament square, “The 27 countries on your plate” provides a gourmet display case of the specialty dishes of the 27 member states. The aim is to help people discover the local and regional traditions of each country. A European culinary walk that will enable you to appreciate the tastes and traditions of the 27 member countries. Cuisine and traditional recipes are without doubt more than just an important part of our culture. As well as tantalising our taste buds and delighting…
