  1. Started by HighWiredSith,

Anybody watching this or have watched it? I've watched the first four episodes and the series looks amazing. I'm not quite sold on the family dynamic thing going on or the weird villain-esque situation with doctor who's not a doctor (was the doctor in the original series actually a doctor?). I love the robot character and the dynamic between the robot and Will Robinson is the best part of the series so far, other than the top notch special effects.

Apparently it comes out tomorrow which I didn't know until just now. Also it will be the 100th episode of the series.

Does anybody play this? Or Fortnite? I'm hopelessly addicted to PUBG, and I play it all the time. I am on xbox1, I've pretty much ditched my gaming PC for the time being. If you play, hit me up (gamertag badverbal). ;-)

I've heard great things about the movie. Wakanda has a wall, they keep out illegal immigrants, and the focus on using their own resources to help their own citizens instead of wasting resources for ungrateful foreigners. The movie goes too far for my personal tastes though. Wakanda is actually about Black Nationalism and Black Supremacy. Wakandans are racial segregationists and I don't care for that. I'm wondering if the movie is a stealth parody. Though technologically sophisticated, culturally the Wakandans are regressive and backwards and operate in a near feudal system. The Wakandan royalty and other noble classes live lavishly while those who ar…

I picked up this beast last week. Now the problem is, I've run out of video games that I haven't already played to death. (Looking at you Witcher 3, Skyrim, and Fallout 4!) In a couple weeks, I'm picking up FF15, and I'm eyeing Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

  7. Really curious about your guys' thoughts. While I didn't necessarily disagree with what was presented as far as political messages in series 10, I thought that it was pretty on the nose and jarred the narrative quite a few times. EDIT: I actually LOVED the finale of series 10, as they for the most part put any politics in the backdrop and let the story run the show.

  8. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/02/14/opinion/olympic-ice-hockey.html So I didn't realize this was a thing until I tuned into the US game this morning and found that, for the first time since 1994, I didn't recognize any of the players. How was the team selected? Top college hockey players who got wavers from their schools? That's great, and I love college hockey (more open and relatable game), but, this is a fail. I want to cheer for the Canadian super-team vs the world, mainly because it's the only time in pop culture that Canadians have an uber-image. I want to Oveckin and his friends from the KHL play former NHL teammates; I want to see Sweden dar…

QONQR is a phone app that I have been playing for nearly four years now. In a nutshell it’s a GPS-centric war game between three different factions. Using your phone’s location, you can battle for supremacy within your local area up to a radius of 30 miles, and up to 1000 miles with certain ordnances that are purchased through the game using “qredits”, which are the game’s concept of currency (and can be collected freely). The actual play is more nuanced, but I won’t spoil it all here. There are offensive, defensive and supportive formations that can be used to wage war. Each has their advantages and disadvantages. The story around QONQR is centere…

Back in 2007, an Indie film came out called "The Man from Earth". It was written by Star Trek and Twilight Zone writer, Jerome Bixby. The original movie took place almost entirely inside of a cabin, with a story that focused on a professor named John Oldman as he revealed to his colleagues that he is 14,000 years old. The original isn't without controversy. He accidentally became Jesus So it's safe to say many from the religious crowd (like those who love "God's not Dead"), hate this movie. The sequel quite literally takes place 10 years later as he's about to move on again. It has some Scooby Doo elements with co…

I think this game is amazing from the cartoon looking graphics to the different weapons and cosmetics you can have in this game are almost god-like in my opinion. As well as the animated shorts that Valve did for each of the classes in the game plus the sandvich. Link to videos in you want to watch them.

How is there not a thread for Westworld here yet? With Game of Thrones wrapping up in a few seasons this is slated to be HBO's next big thing. If you haven't seen it yet the basic premise is sometime in the near future people built a huge "Western" theme park and filled it with lifelike robots. So you can experience gun slinging, treasure hunting, whoring, saloon poker games and knife fights, etc, etc. If you can pay the price ($40,000/d). Anthony Hopkins stars as the CEO and creator of the technology that made the robots possible and is playing his usual amazing Machiavellian bad guy. Since we're on episode 7 and no one is talking about it yet I'm going to dec…

Blizzard is relaunching Vanilla WoW. RIP my life. The new Overwatch map looked fun. I'm probably going to watch a bunch of Koreans play Starcraft for the next two days. Any other thoughts?

Anyone watching the latest season (Heroes vs Healers vs Hustlers)? I watched the first few seasons of survivor when it came out and then stopped for like over a decade and now I've been getting back into it lol. This season is kind of ehh so far, don't really like the theme, but whatever it's something to watch.

Why don´t we have a season 7 thread yet? Only 24 days to go. It´s been a loooong waiting. As usual I haven´t been able to keep away from spoilers but I guess we need to keep this spoiler free. Or at least use the spoiler tags. (If you want to read about spoilers, watchersonthewall.com is a heaven.) What are you all looking forward to the most? I´m looking forward to characters getting together, both old friends/foes and new ones. I´m really looking forward to Sam´s time at the Citadel. What will he find? And of course I´m looking forward to Daenerys finally ariving to Westeros. I´m not looking forward to main character´s deaths. There will probably be some, alth…

Has anyone here watched this show? I've been watching it on Netflix and I have some thoughts. First I want to get out of the way that I know the main guy got cancer and the show was ultimately cancelled so maybe what I hope for doesn't come to fruition, I'm only 10 episodes in. With that said the show seems to be aiming at a certain audience. When there's violence it is very gruesome with lots of CGI blood and to the tune of rock anthems. Sex and nudity is near constant and rages from casual to depraved. This is Game of Thrones on steroids as far as sex and violence. You can imagine what audience they were aiming this show at but underneath there is something that…

I used to watch The Legend of the Seeker back in 2008-2010 when it aired - it is (very) loosely based on the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. I recently got an Amazon FireStick and was downloading some apps (Netflix, Hulu, etc.) and it scanned past my eye as I searched around. I clicked on it. I watched the pilot again. I'm now hopelessly in love with Bridget Regan all over again. Send help.

  27. Chinese production company DMG has picked up the rights to all of Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere universe books - past and present - for colossal sums of money. The company has earmarked $270 million as 50% of the production budget for three films. They will be looking for international partners to pick up the rest of the budget, which given who they've worked with in the past (they've co-produced everything from Iron Man 3 to Looper) probably won't be hard. The first two movies will be The Way of Kings and Mistborn: The Final Empire. Exactly how they're going to boil those books (especially Way of Kings) down into a single movie remains to be seen. They've already a…

Anyone watch this? I was sick last week and binged the first season...I like it over all. There are a few plot points that were introduced in the beginning, then dropped as the seasons went on which I was pretty grateful for. Dameon Lewis is a good actor, and if he's doing this as a long-running try out for replace Craig Daniels as James Bond, he's doing a pretty good job; gruff, arogant, aloof...
